It’s official. I have found the best burger in London! Amongst many gems at maltby market, African volcano truly ticks all the boxes! The staff are committed to the cause- you can see the concentration in their eyes as they perfect the architecture of their burgers. Impressive range of options- all packed with punchy flavours and dropping with juices. They use only the best, manly ingredients- no fake bacon, quinoa bread or organic spinach in sight. I felt jealous eyes watching me as I engulfed the monstrous beauty.

These guys never disappoint – even when I got distracted and ended up eating my Dirty Streaky cold, it was still The Best Burger I’ve had in London. And I’ve lived in London for 20years. It might be the bacon. It might be the beef. It might be the ‘special sauce’. Whatever. It’s excellent. It definitely doesn’t hurt that the chefs are passionate about their food and consistently offer a warm, friendly service. Go!
Great stall on Maltby St market run by a great couple. The Peri Peri sauce is amazing, much much better than big brand equivalents. The menus short, but everything is good. Bring a bib and try the #DirtySecret or go traditional with the chicken.
By far the best food stall on Maltby street market. Would definitely recommend the dirty burger to anyone visiting with a craft beer on the side from the beer stall opposite. Usually there is a bit of a queue but the burger is well worth the wait and it is a great time to enjoy the Maltby street market atmosphere.
A friend of mine had been raving about Maltby Street Market, particularly this place, since visiting last summer. I was told of the best burger ever.. I probably should have trusted him more and visited sooner, but after a long time waiting I finally made it down to the market this weekend, and I wasn’t disappointed! The burger itself was a tenner, so a bit more than you’d usually pay, but definitely worth the extra couple of quid, as the food is miles better than anything I’ve been able to get for 6 or 7. It consisted of awesome beef covered in cheese, slow cooked pulled pork, amazing peri peri sauce and a bit of salad. Even the bread is soaked in the juices of the pork before being put on to the burger!Will definitely be back to Maltby Street for another burger next time i’m free at the weekend!
