ASK Italian, London Bridge It was only I became a mum, to my 13 month (and still in training mode) old child, that I had to think carefully about the place when we dine out. Now, I need to know if it is stroller friendly, has proper high chair, the appropriateness of the ambience, was there baby changing room, etc. My little one is still not able to eat a kids meal but we already need to consider at great length for a children and baby friendly restaurant. And, oh no, you will not find me in a McDonald’s yet. ASK Italian welcomes baby and children. There were prepared balloons, colouring provisions, kids menu and children’s board of fame to hang their colouring masterpiece. Even the menu of pizzas, lasagne, pastas and desserts is popular irrespective of age. Of course, there was prosecco and wine for the grown ups. ASK knows how to deliver a family friendly place. I can hardly be less enthusiastic to write more a food chain business, so let’s just go straight on to the food which took a lengthy time to be served. sea bass al forno 14.55 the piece of fish was quite thin, served hot but I felt it was a smallish plate for a main. spaghetti al pomodoro 8.25calzone con carne picante 11.95 cheesy with various meats, disappointingly under spiced, and not quite big enough, but somehow I still found myself enjoying it in some sinful way.lemon tart again too small, not tangy enough, but thankfully not over-sweetenedprofiteroles al cioccolato the choux pastry tasted very dry and tasted like a mass produced frozen product but, on the bright side it has a nice chocolate sauce.Service for the night was especially slow despite the restaurant being half empty. The staffs looked overworked, tired and were ready to get off their shifts on that Saturday night. The Italian laid back approach might have been adopted but the Italian amore? This is a riverside branch located near the Design Museum. All the usual suspects are on the standard menu and the food and service are fine. I would generally recommend their pasta dishes over pizza.
Good service from warm people….they are quite cooperative…I had pollo milanese for mains and it was good…prices are nominal as well…
One of my favourite Italian restaurants in London. They provide all the favourites with a lot of choice for vegetarians. The first time I visited Ask, they didn’t have the dish I wanted, however the staff were very friendly and suggested a very similar chicken dish without serving the chicken.Their starters are also really good…I never usually eat tomatoes however their bruschetta tasted so amazing and is now one of my favourite starters ever. The desserts are also equally as amazing…I would definitely recommend the profiteroles! All in all, Ask is one of those restaurants that you can go to just for a casual meal or for a special occasion and guaranteed you will enjoy your time there. It’s also a bonus that vouchers for a certain percentage off your bill can always be found online.
I went here for a catch-up dinner with a friend. Didn’t book in advance but still managed to get great seats outside with breath-taking views of the Thames and Tower Bridge. The waiter was very chatty and gave recommendations about the menu. We both ordered garlic bread for starters and a chicken & bacon pizza with an egg in the middle (we requested this) for mains. They are quite flexible about changing the toppings. The pizza was enormous and thoroughly enjoyable. I normally think that Italian pizzas are overly salty and greasy, but this was so well made compared to many. The best part of the experience was eating in the outdoor section and enjoying the atmosphere of London river-side moving from late afternoon into evening. By the time we left, the nightlife had come alive, with pretty lights and noisy bars. There are lots of quality bars along that road if you fancy a quick drink or two after!
Shad Thames has an array of pubs and Ask Italian is a perfect place to drop-by for a meal. The menu is quite extensive and you will be served what you expect!! The service needs to be improved,we had to remind the staff at least twice that our main course needs to be served.Other than than,a go to place for its food and the ambiance.
Though last in the long line of restaurants at Bulter’s wharf, this would possibly be the best located Ask Italian! It is a long trek from Tower Bridge and I am sure many people would have just given up and gone to Cantina del Ponte before reaching here.We had gone in a large group so we got seated in one of their round table which is just perfect for long chit chats. Wine gets served in unique big base wine glasses which I liked more than the usual thin stem glasses. The menu here is exhaustive so you can be sure to get your choice of pizza or pasta. There is nothing special about this place, but I liked the food here better than Pizza Express close by.
