Good location, bad service. I went with my family to this restaurant. we chose set menus to make it simple. the service was slow, one meal was forgotten, and the bill was twice wrong and I had to call the manager. the food was so so otherwise, so ubnforutnately, I can’t recommend it.
Overpriced and below-par. Last week I received the visit of two Italian friends who love their food, so we dined out every night for 5 evenings in a row. This restaurant was the last of the 5 we visited. We were just in the middle of commenting how below-par the food was (compared to the other 4) when we got the bill. Surprise surprise, Cantina was also the most expensive!!! I wouldn’t call this place a tourist trap, but from my personal experience I can confidently say that it’s easy to get better Italian food and more value for money elsewhere.
Feels like a tourist trap. This is part of the D&D group who now own the Conran Restaurants. I havn’t tried any since they became D&D and on the evidence of this place I won’t.By the numbers Italian with high prices. I had the set menu – because I fancied Bresoala and it wasn’t listed as a starter. When in Rome you think…….. but very dissappointing, and very dry.Followed this up with a respectable Pan fried Salmon on a bed of lentils with Quince Jam. Not unpleasant in a forgetable sort of way.Desert was Chocolate Polenta cake, small dry , but very pretty to look at.My friend had 15 quids worth of seafood linguine, which could be bettered by any family Italian place in South London. She began with Baby Squid in kind of soup, which was very nice, but huge, and expensive.Entirely forgetable (I wish) in every aspect except the bill. Will I return. NO.I won’t be going to another D&D restaurant either.
