Great place to have a beer and eat something. It’s located in a discrete corner with a good decor. It has a lot of local beers of different kinds. The staff is nice and the food good. The price is good, because it’s near tower brigde. I recommend it a lot!
Went here on Friday night for my wine fix. Lovely place, buzzing with activity. Tough to get a table unless you go by 7. I went there and my friend had already got one so we were all set for a long night.Had wine – Merlot, first red on the menu – and chips. Also tried both the veggie mains, very good. Their pale ale is great too.Overall, a Happy Friday and a good start to Saturday. 😀
My local pub and I love it! Very good variety of ales, cider and European beers! Only been for Sunday roast once but it was very good, beef was tender, Yorkshire pudding was perfectly made and the gravy was flavoursome though they could have given a little bit more of it. They also host Sunday pub quiz @8pm which is a good Sunday activity, very good vibe.
Decent little boozer, tucked away a little bit away from the main tower bridge footpath. Would say more of a place for drinks than food as its a little cramped and people will be standing around, so not an ideal eating environment! Its also a little bit on the expensive side for what it serves. Good selection of beers. londoncurryblog.com
The best local in the Shad Thames area – the ground floor is the warm and welcoming pub area, with plenty of free seating, and tellies for the football, they serve a pub food menu in here which is actually fantastic – pumpkin ravioli and welsh rarebit anyone? You can reserve a table in here for a larger party as well. The first floor is the acting ‘restaurant’ with an even better, and heartier menu, it’s very informal though, and you probably don’t need a reservation, unless it’s a busy Champions League night.. This doubles as the scene for the weekly pub quiz, and where they serve Sunday Roast as well, haven’t experienced either, but I definitely will at some point! The kitchen shuts at 9.30 pm though, so make sure you get your food orders in on time. The craft beer and wine menu wins big, this place is a winner all round.
Hidden behind the Butler’s Wharf complex, few people happen to wander past the Dean Swift, which is a pity as this smart, upmarket pub is a delight to dine at.The bar serves an astonishingly large range of beers, bottled and draught. The bar menu allows drinkers to enjoy a casual scotch egg or bowl of potato wedges with their connoisseur’s beer whilst watching sport on the bar TVs.The dining room upstairs is nicely furnished with home-style dinig tables and chairs which lend a pleasing haphazardness to the experience. The food itself is excellent and only just identifiable as ‘pub food’. A great place!
What a find! Just located off the river, a little gem hidden from the masses of tourists littering the riverfront taking photos of Tower Bridge. Here you will find a traditional open bar with five brilliantly sourced ales and a strong ten more fixed selection plus many bottles. The bar staff will be more than happy to sample beer and help you choose. Which will set you up perfectly for their burger! A real sinker. Lovely pink and juicy. Will be coming back in the summer months!
