A good basic British pub that does a decent meal, has cold beer and a clean fit out. Staff were really helpful. I had the British beef and Doom Bar ale pie with chips, gravy and peas. Classic pub meal done well.
Walking through Tower Bridge during Christmas time, we stopped by this pub as it looked really cozy. The place is in fact pretty nice and having a look at the Menu we found out it was actually convenient. My boyfriend had a burger with chips, I pecked at his meal, and it was very tasty. I instead ordered something which looked like a pizza or some pitta bread, but thicker. And I did not like it. Honestly, I still think the place is nice and it was all a matter of tastes, but anyway, due to this bad experience, I did not have an amazing time. For drinks, we had two Coronas. The staff was friendly and efficient. If I went again, I would just order a burger.
I visited The Pommelers Rest this Saturday whilst ricocheting about near London Bridge. We were looking for somewhere with decent food, reasonably priced drinks and screens to watch the world cup. Obviously a JD Wetherspoons was going to tick all the boxes here!Weren’t wowed or disappointed by the ambience. The food however was really lovely. Chilli was saucy & tender and the rice was surprisingly flavourful! Also the bramley apple crumble was gluten-free! Hurrah!
Yes its a Weatherspoon, but it does serve a purpose in the London bridge areas where you do well to get a sandwich for less than 4.5 this offers a welcome alternative where one can get a half decent burger and pint for less than 10.As weatherspoons go this isnt the best, in need of a face lift and a building which is not as grand as some of its counterparts londoncurryblog.com
An unlikely reasonably-priced British pub in London’s tourist row, just next to Tower Bridge. Quaint interiors and fun and friendly atmosphere.
Been here 3 times this week for lunch! Good food, excellent value for money and staff are very friendly. All in all a nice, traditional, homely pub with a good atmosphere.
