I ate lunch here on a very quiet weekday. My colleague and I sat outside, and were the only diners when we arrived. The food took quite a while to come; considering that we ordered promptly and there was no-one else to serve. I had to ask for condiments and seasoning for the table, rather than it being provided without question. The service was adequate. The food, however, was severely overpriced, particularly for a lunch menu. The steak in my sandwich was dry, the helpings of homemade mayo and chips were both stingy. The bread was also too hard to eat properly. I ordered the steak sandwich and was charged two pounds more than it said on the menu. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place because the ambience and food are not worth the price that you pay.

Quite small and personal which is nice. The food is very good, highly recommended.

Excelent. I used to like the owner when he owned the little cafe in Greenwich now he’s gone large, and as much as you must admire the food I just hope he isn’t getting to long himself now.

Not impressed! Not even in the slightest. We found the service severely lacking, our waitress continously tried to upsell everything we ordered which I found most annoying, especially when half of our starters never arrived and yet we were still charged for. The portions of meat were huge, but alas tough and chewy. I’d have much preferred smaller portions of quality meat for the price we paid. The vegetarian in our midst was delighted with the choice of fresh pasta and pizzas. She opted for the butternut squash & sage tortelli. It arrived drenched in olive oil, but she raved about it – as she should. It is not made in house, it is in fact bought from ‘the fresh pasta company’ I know this because I sell their products in my shop and would recognise their beautifully made products anywhere. If you fancy a quick bite and don’t much care for service then by all means give Buenos Aires a try, but be warned…the dining section downstairs is cramped and was glacially cold on our last visit.

Over priced, pleasant but not outstanding steak with NO choice of sauce, ie no bearnaise or pepper sauce. Owner and staff have unwarranted superiority complexes. This place is over rated.

Craig Kennedy. I usually visit this restaurant every 6 or so months when visiting my daughter in London and up until now I have enjoyed every meal. On 14 April 2009 ,together with my wife, daughter and her partner, I visited the restaurant to celebrate my birthday. All was fine at the start, the place was busy, the service friendly and the orders were taken promptly. Seeing that it was a special event I pushed the boat out by ordering a 300g fillet steak which came in at 24 plus extra for all vegetables. At this price I thought that I could be assured of receiving a good cut of meat. Instead the steak was extremely chewey and stringy which resulted in a significant proportion of the meat being left on the side of my plate. When the waiter came to clear the plates away I told him of my dissatisfaction with the steak and he advised that he would ‘ tell the chef ‘. The bill was then presented without apology or deduction and I queried this only to be told that I should have drawn their attention to it as soon as I was unhappy with the steak so that they could have the opportunity of replacing it. The restaurant’s arguement was that it was my fault for persevering with the fillet steak in the hope that it was going to improve. Sending the steak back would have disrupted our meal which the others were enjoying. A small gesture would have been appreciated such as deleting the cost of one of the 2 bottles of Shiraz consumed at ,I recall. around 16.50 a bottle but probably not costing the restaurant more than 4 . As a result goodwill built up over the years has been lost and I shall be seeking alternative eating venues on my next visit. At 24 I expected better .From reading subsequent reviews I notice that others have had a similar experience

Terrific steaks of Argentinian beef but pasta & pizza are great too. Friendly service & kids love it, but very popular locally: you must book.
