Families must avoid, especially ones with young children!!Staff at the Taste of Raj was exceptionally rude – one of them shouted at my 2 year old with such a fury that he got scared and started cyring, so much that my wife had to take her away from the restaurant while I paid the bill and prepared to leave. The mistake of my 2 year old (being a 2 year old) was that he was running around in the restaurant, when there was no one in the restaurant other than us. On raising the concern with the Manager, the rude waiter was called, and when asked to explain, he snapped again saying that if our child cannot stay still on the chair, we should perhaps visit another restaurant. Appalling!!
This can be the hottest place in the village. And not for the right reasons. They really need to learn when to turn on the aircon so as not to have customers practically fainting. Food is ok, though has been a bit unwell on a couple of occasions, so tend not to go to this one anymore.
There are a few Indian/Nepalese in Blackheath and I think this is the best one. The lamb is always so tender and the sauces are all so flavoursome. I can also recommend the shashlik.
Absolutely disgusted with the service and rudeness of the staff. We tried to take our children here for dinner last night and were asked to leave as children weren’t welcome!!! We promptly left and found the Mexican next door more than welcoming. What is wrong with restaurants in the UK, we seem to think children are a blight on society!!! Your not a fine dining restaurant get over yourselves!!!
The best Indian restaurant I have been to in London so far. There takeaways are good – dining in is even better. Polite and attentive staff, fantastic quality food and reasonable prices. Various bars can be found nearby for after dinner drinks too. Easy to get to as it’s close to Blackheath station and bus stops if you don’t live locally.
Reasonable. Good food, good prices – typical indian, the service when I’ve been has been better that most and the amount of food has always been too much (which is a good thing as you can take it away) – no complaints.
