Tried this lunch spot the other day, it does Hawaiian food, but more in a casual setting. Had their Heatwave bowl with salmon & spicy mayo, tasted quite fresh & spicy. Would go next time & build my own as there are many different toppings

Great, refreshing and very reasonably priced. The only downside is it can only realistically be take away as there is about 3 seats and always taken.

Cool Hawaiian concept, went for lunch and was very pleasantly surprised. Fish was very fresh, many different toppings to choose from, i especially liked the almond turmeric topping. Was a bit pricey but worth it for the quality

A few weeks back I went to try out Ahi pokein Fitzrovia, this was exciting for me, as I have not tried Hawaiian food before and I was anxious to know what type of dishes that Ahi pokeserve. With Ahi pokeyou can choose their signature bowls, Sweet green, Heat wave, Oahu and Side chick or why not build your own poke bowl.1. First, you choose the base, either brown rice, quinoa, kale, or udon noodles, I always go for udon noodles when eating out, so I decided to do something different, so I chose brown rice.2. My bowl needed protein, and as I chose a large poke bowl, I could choose two protein choices, so of course, I went with my favourite choices; salmon and tuna.3. To give my bowl and added taste, I mixed the sauces sweet ponzu and sesame shoyu.4. Lastly, was the topping, for my bowl Edamame, sweet potato, kimchee cucumber, burnt corn and an extra topping of avocado, my bowl was completed and all for 9.95.When picking the bowl, I realised that the bowl was actually quite large but jam-packed with goodness, my choice to go with the brown rice was a great choice, as the brown rice sat nicely with the Tuna and Salmon. The burnt corn gave the bowl an unusual flavour tangy flavour. With the sesame shoyu tieing in a nutty flavour to the bowl. My bowl tasted so good and it made me feel better knowing that all the ingredients used in my poke bowl had positive benefits. Brown rice aids in cleaning the digestive system and is high in magnesium. Corn is an antioxidant, which protects the body, from diseases and is packed with lutein and zeaxanthin, which are two phytochemicals that promote healthy vision. Whilst salmon is known to be rich in Omega 3 and fatty acids, it is high in B vitamins and is a great source of protein. It is so cool, that you can mix and match when creating your own poke bowl, as the different tastes are endless. For dessert, to cleanse my palette I chose their pineapple chunks in Earl grey sprinkled with coconut shavings. This was a perfect way to end my meal. Left to sit in the Earl Grey residue, the pineapple chunks are both sweet and refreshing. What I love about this place, is the fast pace and the different consumers that come and go out of Ahi Poke. From the university students, the locals and the office workers, all looking to pick up a healthy bowl of goodness! I also noticed that Ahi poke also sells through Ubereats and the orders seemed to be pouring in! So if you live locally, why not pick up a bowl?Price: boujiinlondon.com

Was very excited about Poke places opening up finally in London so gave them a try.Have to say was a bit disappointed; rice was cold (should be warm) and the shrimp was bland; salmon was ok though. Add ins selection was reasonable.

Visited on their opening day for lunch but I was little late to claim one of 50 free bowls so had to pay full price for the Venice bowl. Our Venice bowl comprised sticky rice (more like sushi rice that’s been cooked with extra water), mahi-mahi aka dolphin fish, cashew nut, radish and wakame along with olive oil and lemon drizzle. Good concept as we love our raw fish served in Hawaiian style. The fish itself was tasteless and the overall poke bowl was little underseasoned that we had to add some soy sauce. Their menu board was extremely small that you basically have to rely on the staff to explain on how their poke bowl works- that’s if they are not busy preparing the poke bowl. As poke bowl is still fairly new to Londoners, it would be very hard to judge what’s Ahi Poke selling if you just randomly walk past the store without doing your own research. The decor was too chic to reflect what they are selling besides their logo has a fish sign suggesting they are selling fish-related food. So they really need to work on that too. yummyjubbly.com
