Terrible service…average food. We went to Burger and Shake and were asked for our order about a minute after stepping in. Not ready yet we asked for a couple more minutes but this was very rushed. We were asked our drinks order having not been given a menu yet and then stood over whilst we decided. The waiter broke a glass and my friend was given a meat rather than vegetarian burger which we had to get changed. The food was ok but only up to fast food standard and more pricey than that. Although the milkshakes were very nice. The bill arrived with a ‘discretionary’ 12.5% service charge on. This isn’t usual for just a small group at lunchtime but we thought we would pay it anyway. We didnt have the final 30p of the discretionary service charge which it said at the bottom of the bill was optional so we didnt leave it. We were then stopped as we were leaving and told we still had to pay the 30p, when we pointed out that it was discretionary the waiter (the one who dropped the glass and brought us the meat burger rather than veggie) then asked us what was wrong with the service and we stood there and argued over 30p. Apparently 12.5% is the normal tip in the UK, and there was us thinking that a tip was traditionally 10% and optional. We are NEVER going back. WE cant believe how unvalued they made us feel, I wish wed taken back the rest of the discretionary service charge after that.
OMG!. I’ve probably just had the best burger in my life! The beef in the cheeseburger was soft, succulent, juicy, tasty … it was heaven! (Especially since the last burger I had was a Byron dry burger) The bun was soft and nice. The fries were crispy … AND they’ve got a lunch deal on for just 10 (incl burger, fries and a drink). I’ll definitely go back and try their shake next time and the coleslaw which I’ve heard good things about.

Impressive!. So impressed with Burger & Shake! This unassuming little place has high quality food that you won’t know until you try. I would highly recommend.
