Worst Italian food I’ve ever eaten in this dark, narrow space. The so-called eggplant parmesan arrived swimming in what looked like a can of tomato sauce, with squiggles of cheese floating around. The cheese was partially melted but not enough to provide a nice cheese crust. The artichoke-peppers lukewarm pizza arrived with bits of what looked like frozen broccoli and unchopped olives (straight out of the can). When we asked about the artichokes & other veggies, the pizza was taken away & returned w/ bits of rocket on the top. We were very tempted to leave, but it was already late. Too bad – having already passed on what we thought would be poor fare at a few nearby chains. Don’t go here! I would recommend the excellent food at Old Amalfi across the street.
Surpassed expectations. Il Fornello does a lovely lamb dish, and has superb entrees. I took a client there for lunch last week – was central and near our destination. I have to say it surpassed my expectations, already high. The service was pleasant – almost regal to me. Really ideal for the occasion. I can definitely highly recommend Il Fornello for luncheon meetings.

Tops for impressing business partners. Recommended to me some years ago, Il Fornello has become the restaurant I always lunch at with clients. The staff is very pleasant and professional. I can also count on eating the freshest food of the highest quality. Its time I share the info that Il Fornello is tops in London for impressing business partners. A hungry diners dream. Spaghetti and meatballs are to die for at Il Fornello! Yummy! I also ordered half a bottle of Barolo to go with it. I was in heaven. Something wholesome and something naughty, a hungry diners dream. My wife loves fish, so she chose the Scampis ala Provenzale we learned Il Fornello is famous for. The staff were very kind and helpful (they promptly brought extra napkins). Next time well come with the kids and Ill have a fish dish too.
Great food, friendly atmosphere. I’ve been to Il Fornello multiple times because I love the food and the service is great. The presentation is not always the best, but what it might lack in appearance it certainly makes up for in taste. All of the servers are really friendly and the prices are reasonable. Its open all the time, even on holidays, and has a kitchy small-town vibe.
Highly recommend for parties!. Best work-related dinner party ever been to was at Il Fornello, just before Easter. Lovely food and plenty of it! Very attentive and welcoming staff. All my colleagues were delighted with their meals. Basically, everything was cooked to perfection. The ambience was spot on. The room was prepared perfectly to suit our group of forty-three cheerful souls. Highly recommend.
