One of the best fish and chips in London. Cheaper to take away. Fried on the spot. Very popular with the locals too. Highly recommend cod or haddock…

I have a haddock and potatoes which were fine, but the price / quality does not make it the best option around. The ambience is nice and familiar and the personnel super kind. It’s fine but I’ll not die for it.
Great Fish and Chips in pub – lite atmosphere. Went in for food and had a pub;ite atmosphere but much more a restaurant and extremely good fish and chips. We asked the waiter for recommendations and he never steered us wrong. We enjoyed the dinner
Off the Beaten Path, And Worth It. I was determined on my most recent trip to London to have excellent fish and chips take away, and North Sea delivered. It had no pretense, it was on a quiet street in Bloomsbury, away from hordes of people, and it is situated near several lovely parks where you can sit on a bench and indulge in some of the best fried, freshest haddock or cod around. I loved the chips, too–just crispy enough to hold up to the vinegar, but nonetheless mealy and creamy on the inside. The price was as reasonable as other fish and chips in London–but no food in London I find seems to be a bargain if you are exchanging US dollars.
Decent, but not cheap. North Sea Fish is like stepping back in time to the 50’s or guest-starring in an episode of Coronation St (more kitsch is hard to find). The best thing about this place is the garlic mayonnaise, which is quite exceptional 🙂 The fish is generally well cooked, and the portions are generous. It is expensive though (c. 45 for 2), which seems a lot for a place that is somewhere between diner and pub. Another time, I might try a takeaway.
