Went there for afternoon tea on a Saturday. The place was quiet but not empty and we got a nice table next to the window. On arrival we got a grass of prosecco with a strawberry and then selected our tea. They also offer some coffee options. The sandwiches of the afternoon tea felt a little bit stale and with not enough filling to balance out the bread. The scones were quite crumbly too, but that was not such a big problem. From the sweets at the top I liked the tart the best and was not able to eat the fruitcake (not really my cup of tea unless it’s Christmas). The other two sweets were not my favourite either. In general I would not recommend this afternoon tea with all the other options available because it feels more like putting something together from bits that were already in the kitchen and not like crafting something special or unique. darcrose22albionadventures.blogspot.com

Have eaten here several times on work trips – stopped going due to the rudeness of who I assumed was the manager – made to feel a bit awkward as a lone, female diner on business, as if they were doing me a big favour, anyway came back recently, on a work trip again, service much better. The menu here is always tempting but the food is too salty and greasy. Nice atmosphere and set up though but rather pricey – there is a set menu but this is like a dirty secret they are reluctant for you to know about! It’s not bad but there’s far better not too far away.

I don’t like places where chefs bully staff and customers at the end of the day we pay their wages not the other way around. The food is decent but the chef is a bully.
