Cottage Meal: 4.99 & Wingtastic: 4.99 | I was near the London Bridge Underground Station today with my little brother and he wanted junk food and so as the lovely sister that I am, I took him to Chicken Cottage. Upon entering, the first thing we noticed was how quiet and empty it was. We went to the front and were greeted by a warm welcome. I didn’t see what I wanted in the menu and asked the server who was very friendly and told me the closest thing to what I wanted which was the Cottage Meal. My brother went for the Wingtastic meal. My meal included 2 chicken pieces, 2 spicy wings, 2 chicken strips, chips and a drink. The Wingtastic included 2 bbq wings, 2 grilled wings, 2 spicy wings, chips and a drink. The spicy wings were very tasty, very different to what you get at local PFC shops. They weren’t extremely spicy to burn your tastebuds but had an adequate amount. Out of the two wings in my meal, one was perfect in the sense that it was crispy, moist and tender but the other was overly cooked so the outside was very hard to eat. The chicken strips also had a spicy taste which was delicious. The chicken pieces however weren’t anything special. If anything they were bland. The chips were hot but not crispy enough. I’ve got to say, the meal was huge! I gave my brother most of it so be prepared for a big portion. The wings in my brother’s meal weren’t great. I tasted a little of each wing and there was just something amiss in all the flavours apart from the spicy wings. In terms of presentation, well it’s fast food so it’s never going to be well (I adjusted the food to look presentable!). However, I really like the fact that their drink, sauce and tissue packaging has their logo on it. Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience, just think they need to pay attention to the food and ensure everything is cooked properly. Foodie.007 x
Tasty and well-priced chicken however you should be ready for the smell. Since it is very small place and do not have good AC, it is almost impossible to eat in, so my advice is prefer take away.
