Flavours of Naples happens to be our neighbourhood local but if it weren’t we’d travel across London to eat there. I’ve lived in London (north and south) for 30 years, and can’t think of another restaurant that feels so much like dining in your Italian grandma’s cozy kitchen. Great food, wonderful laid-back atmosphere, unusual italian wines, all at an absurdly reasonable price. For 10, try the aubergine parmigiana, more than enough for a full meal — though it would be sad to miss their delicious burrata starter. Everything on the menu is delicious. Highly highly recommended but don’t take our table.

Small, local, banger in Borough.Located in the wasteland between Borough High Street and E&C Roundabout, don’t overlook this inconspicuous Italian bakery/cafe/shop.Italian produce lines the walls, tempting you to attempt an above average spaghetti bolognese next week. A handful of tables crammed in a corner with your standard caf counter up front. Italian family (unconfirmed whether actually Neapolitan) giving you an excellent service – out to the toddler that brings in utensils when required.Soup of the day was a taste sensation, spinach w/ cracking Parmesan. And a solid 9/10 well-made bread to dip alongside. All the sandwiches look amazing so definitely going back for one of those.King-sized ciabatta I bought to takeaway went down a treat at a Cheese and Wine night. Not as cheap as you might expect but the footfall there must be low, they need to break even, and come on mate it’s not busting the bank, pay coz it’s good yeah?Would be v content to call this my local.
