Love the breakfast here. The English big breakfast is fantastic. Delicious bacon, perfectly cooked eggs, black pudding, bubble and squeak (wish I could get my hands on this more often) mushrooms, baked beans, tomato – it’s just all good.Good coffee as well and super attentive and friendly service. The ambience is old English pub style, love it.

This was my regular breakfast place on weekends for almost 3 years! You have to get here early (before 11am) to get a table without a wait. The hostess is very polite though and will offer you coffee while you wait.My favourites here were eggs benedict / chorizo omelette and full works omelette! They usually have specials on their menu board – go for the sweet options there – I loved their pancakes!Don’t forget to order fresh orange juice here as it is really fresh. They also do some awesome shakes that can be customised.Really miss this place! Went there last time I visited london 🙂

Very ordinary breakfast – save your money. My flatmate (Irish) recommended brunch at Joes.I ordered the large cappucino and scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. I was offered a choice of white or grainary(?) bread. Despite twice saying Grain, what arrived was plain old white sliced. It is so noisy and crowded in there i suspect the waiters were resorting to lip reading to take an order. My cappucino was similar in size to a french bowl of coffee. Unfortunately the barista’s at Joes simply appear to have drowned 2 espresso shots in about 300 ml of too hot milk. No discernible coffee flavour at all. A coffee of this size needs a min 3 shots, or don’t bother. My scrambled eggs were a nice, rich yellow colour suggesting some sort of organic or at least free range egg was used but they had no flavour at all. The very small one slice of smoked salmon was nice, but wasn’t big enough to even cover one of the bread slices. 8.45 was the price for the food, total around 12 pounds.I could have made a tastier dish at home for a 1/4 of the price. And as I live just around the corner, I will certainly not be spending any more of my hard earned $$$ at Joes for breakfast/brunch. I’ll get a Monmouth coffee and make my own eggs.

Never been spoken to so rudely until I visited Joe’s Kitchen. So it looks all cool and the menu’s alright but there isn’t a single smile on any waiter’s face. They are some of the most miserable people I’ve ever met with every face like a smacked arse. I think Joe’s Kitchen must have some kind of ‘miserable idiot’ magnet because they’re all in there. By ordering you feel like you’re doing them some sort of disservice. Several wrong orders later they begin to close up. We sit, cards out, waiting to pay for half an hour while the staff all sit down to a hearty meal. No amount of attempting to get eye contact makes any difference. 30 mins later we pay. We haven’t even got our coats and bags together before the owner marches up and aggressively tells us we’re stopping his staff from going home and we need to leave, and didn’t we know they close up now, can’t we see it on the door. He was rude, aggressive, grumpy and frankly arrogant. Telling him we had to wait ages to even pay and leave was met with disregard. He just didn’t care at all that he’d not even attempted any customer service, let alone common decency. He sneered and walked away when we attempted to get any kind of dialogue. You know what’s the most ironic?? I was at Joe’s Kitchen a few weeks ago and had a fairly jovial conversation with this idiot where he waxed lyrical about how miserable and rude Londoners were and he wants to move away. Well see ya you grumpy turd, I don’t think many will miss you and your oh so lovely demeanour!!
