Solid SE1 pub, hard to go wrong with the RB.The young professionals’ dream local boozer: film nights, board games, quiz, decent Sunday lunch etc.As a one off drink in the Borough/Elephant (or even L Bridge) area, well worth a visit. Good pints, not OTT expensive. Busy on a Friday/Saturday but should just be able to get a seat.Bordering on a bit too trendy for its own good, but still one of the best pubs around.

The Roebuck is a great pub in Borough, about 10 mins walk from Borough tube. This rather imposing building doesn’t dwell inside too much on the traditional pub theme, giving it an airy and pleasant feeling. The downstairs bar is large and forms an half island which greatly speeds up getting served. The Roebuck offers a good selection of draught beers and good wines. Its food is really very good and by no means overpriced. The only item I’ve eaten here is the pork leg, which was very good indeed. There is a function room on the first floor with its own bar with occasional live music and one of the best poetry nights in London (Bang Said The Gun).Though not convenient for most Londoners, if you happen to be in the area then the Roebuck is well worth a visit.

The great constant in the changing SE1 landscape. A nice menu for these credit crunch times, local beers and national brews. We almost won the quiz which is run by a hilarious blow who actually runs the pub. Gets really busy at weekends but they have a great outdoor area. Enjoy !
