The best fish and chips in the south east. Great staff too. The service is great that you don’t mind the wait. The fish is cooked to perfection and always tasted great
Bland. We usually go to Fishy Business in Harefield Road but thought we’d try Brockley’s Rock due to all the good things we’d heard. The chips were all short stubby things, texture was ok but not very tasty. The batter on the fish was crispy, but that’s the only positive thing I can say about it. No seasoning, no flavour. Mushy peas similarly bland. Back to Fishy Biz!
Disappointed. I usually go to Tony’s plaice but as brockly rock is closer and had opened new I thought I give them a go, I was actually disappointed at how long I had to wait for my food I understand having your fish cooked fresh but I almost fell asleep waiting, eventually when I got my food it was ok nothing great, I wish I had the option of a small or large but it was a standard size and a bit on the pricy side, sorry brockly rock I gave you a go but no more.
Really wonderful !. Just returned from the fourth trip to our local absolutely first rate fish and chip shop and more. There are tables to sit inside and eat – you can bring your own booze. Or phone ahead to have a freshly cooked, super fresh supper waiting for you. Well packaged as a take-away so they won’t go soggy and in bio-degradable cartons. They have grilled fish as well as deep fried and homemade fishcakes too. I’d recommend a portion of beautifully presented and very tasty fried squid on the side,
Proper cooking !. Delicious fish (esp haddock & whitebait) & excellent proper chips – the chefs know exactly what they’re doing and don’t overcook the fish – lovely to eat in or out (phone your order) – the waiting staff can be hit or miss but well worth a detour for excellent food & high standards. Highly recommended.
Yummy fish & chips to take out or eat in. The eat in closes at 9.30pm so we had to take our fish & chips home. Next time we’ll try the eat in menu which is a bit more adventurous than the take away
Brockley Rock – YES. OMG ….. best fish EVER. So fresh and the batter has to be the best I’ve ever eaten on a fish n chips meal. Not just a fish n chip shop/restuarant, there’s loads more on the menu including grilled fish, a terrific (& huge) fresh salad, whitebait (yum). etc etc Do go, you’ll find a welcoming team of staff, good service & a terrific meal at great value. You may have to wait a little but that’s because they cooking freshly to your order.Goodbye Barnes fish n chips – hello Brockley Rock 🙂
