A unique style of Italian cuisine is was you get at Goat, located on one of the best streets for eating out in Chelsea. With the restaurant on the ground floor and DJ bar on the first floor, my friend and I had an amazing night. We enjoyed dinner on a Thursday night, and she suggested we sit by the window to enjoy the some people watching along Fulham Road.We began by sharing the starters, each delicious in their own way. I loved the burrata, datterini tomatoe and salsa verde, as the cheese was creamy and delicate. The tuna tartare with avocado, chilli, mooli and tamari was also great, with flavours that paired well with the fish. For my main dish, I chose the roasted monkfish, taggiasca olives, datterini tomatoes and capers. The monkfish melted in my mouth, while the mix of complimentary flavors was delightful. My friend opted for grilled rib-eye steak tagliata, 28 day aged, rocket and pecorino, and she was very satisfied with her choice. For dessert, we just had to try sticky toffee pudding with vanilla gelato, and the vanilla and blueberry cheesecake, which we also loved. After dessert we decided head upstairs to the bar to finish our wine and try some tasty cocktails while enjoying the music. It was a great night at GOAT, and Id highly recommend the experience to everyone.
It has now been three times that I have been to Goat, and I must say Goat offers a wide range of Italian dishes. It has 50% off on Wednesdays if u show your postcode is local. We ordered pizza with bresaola, parmesan, pesto rocket and truffle oil. Pizzas are wood fried and toppings were fresh. My pizza was very tasty -not the best pizza in London. I had higher expectations, but there is nothing to complain about either. On my second time, I ordered rib-eye steak tagliata with rocket and pecorino. It was nicely presented, however it was overcooked. For dessert, I ordered witchy toffee pudding which was served warm, with vanilla ice cream. It was delicious, worth to try for sure. Finally, I decided to go for the wild mushroom risotto with truffle oil as main and macaroni and cheese as side after reading reviews. They were equally delicious! Risotto was cooked perfectly and mac&cheese was amazing. Overall, I enjoyed dining at Goat. Would recommend to try mushroom risotto and macaroni&cheese. Will certainly go back.
The Goat is a regular of mine. Great outdoor area for summer, upstairs bar and secret speakeasy in the back with great cocktails and creative bartenders! The music is fun and dance-y so it’s an all-in-one spot for dinner and a night out with friends. The food is truffle everything! The tuna sashimi, burger, truffle pizza and quinoa salad are my classic choices. And you HAVE to have the polenta fries with truffle mayonnaise – probably my favourite item on the menu!
The Fulham road is awash with very shi shi restaurants, people reeking of pots of cash and designer clad babies wearing amber ‘teething’ necklaces. It’s also home to a smart looking restaurant called Goat, the menu of which seemed to have been written especially for me. Bass ‘cooked’ in citrus juices, beef carpaccio and tuna tartar being three of my favourite dishes in the culinary spectrum meant choosing a place for lunch a rapid decision.#My friend, being a big fan of pizza and burrata, a creamy version of mozzarella, had no hesitation in ordering toppings of prosciutto San Daniele, burrata and rocket with a basil reduction. (14)I decided to go for the carpaccio (9) and the tuna tartar, (8) especially as the latter was served with wasabi mousse.A pale PInot Grigot blush, la maglia rosa arrived in a 500ml carafe (16) – a wine of bright summer fruits, delicate floral notes and a crisp acidity with a beautiful dry finish. Terrific start. My carpaccio arrived, handsome as hell. Just cutting into it with my knife I knew I was in a for a very good mouthful. Wafer thin, dusted with shaves of truffle, perky rocket and tangy parmesan, I was like a pig in the proverbial. The pizza arrived and again, was a lovely thing to behold. An appropriately thin and quite delicious base (I tried in vain to get the recipe) was topped with generous slices of San Daniele, pools of burrata, spankingly fresh rocket and a hint of basil. Together it was just superb, no two ways about it. I don’t think I’ve seen burrata on a pizza in the UK, of that I’m pretty sure.My tuna arrived, perhaps a little mean on the portion size but the delicate ‘pearls’ of fish were soft, without a doubt sashimi grade and quite delectable. If I have a small gripe it would be about the mousse. No heat whatsoever which was a tad disappointing but flavoursome none the less. The service was extremely pleasant, the seating outside spacious and comfortable and so Goat is a place I would come back to in a heart beat. Some of you may be reeling at the price of the pizza, (the bill came to 52 including service) but it comes back to my way of thinking about great food – it’s hard to come by and if I get presented with near perfection (and don’t let’s forget the rent in that part of London) I wouldn’t bat an eyelid at the price.Bravo to them. mindingbellieswell.blogspot.com
The interior and exterior of GOAT are quite contrasting and really add intrigued to the venue. From the outside GOAT looks like a contemporary take on a classic pub, however inside the restaurant there is a New York style pizzeria feel with touches of metal, raw wood and an open kitchen to bring a modern feel. And upstairs is a whole other ball game. GOAT DRINK has a really old-world feel with thick drapes at the windows, a large dark wood bar, voluptuous cushions, vintage wallpaper and faded paintings on the walls. You could stay lost in GOAT forever and continue to be surprised. For supper we ordered: goats cheese, tomato, mozzarella, zucchini and rocket pizza for me and a Bourbon and maple smoked pancetta, mozzarella and spinach pizza for Alex. When these arrived I was pleasantly surprised to see they were ultra-thin and had next-to-no cheese on them; just as the Italians do! The toppings were really fresh and worked very well together. My pizza, with its mix of cheeses and greens, felt almost healthy and I really enjoyed eating it. The star of the show was definitely Alexs Bourbon and maple smoked pancetta. It has a smokey, sweet and yet completely savoury flavour that was really unique. Ive never tried anything like it before and was really taken by its complex flavour. At 8:50 we were taken upstairs to the Fat Sams Grand Slam event. Inspired by the 1920s film Bugsy Malone, Fat Sams Grand Slam features a range of whiskey based cocktails, flapper dancers and 1920s music. Think the Great Gatsby meets a London pub! We chose a ginger based cocktail for Alex and a super-sweet raspberry based cocktail which, despite a really long wait, were both very delicious. Strong with alcohol but still defined by the ginger and raspberry, these cocktails fitted the evening very well, even if I could only drink 1! theyoungdomesticgoddess.blogspot.com
I have wanted to go here for a while now and it did not disappoint. The goat is fun, chic with a energetic atmosphere. The staff are friendly and helpful and the mounted rams head and a painting of a drinking goat fits perfectly with the restaurants trendy aesthetic. After being seated by the window and enjoying a delightful pinot noir the starters arrived and were delicious. The carpaccio was tender and the burrata smooth and creamy. The mains were equally delicious, the steak even attracted some jealousy from passers by who were leaving the bar upstairs!! Unfortunately I didn’t take photos as I was far too busy enjoying myself however I have been told the pizzas are fantastic too so I’ll have to go back soon!
The VibeIn a City obsessed with hidden gems, where every fridge, nook and cranny seems to be home to a sneaky watering hole, Ive taken to whispering passwords at pretty much anything these days toilet seats included, and knocking for hollow walls. So the Prayer Room upstairs at The Goat has a tough act to follow, but holds its own against fierce competition. Say youre there to repent for your sins and get a secret code that opens a hidden door into a den of opulence. Inside, it more than meets expectations; reaffirming why the speakeasy is such a popular first date choice: flattering candlelight, sofas to sink into side-by-side, vintage charm aplenty and dare I say it jazz. There are plenty of conversation pieces around to help with general ice-breaking; the menu comes in an old hymn book, cocktails arrive in beautiful crystal glasses even the shot (on the house no less) came in an antique shot glass, not to mention the potency of the beverages themselves. We are not breaking any new ground here, but the formula aint broke. Anyway, its about time that Chelsea caught up with some of the Hackney staples (vintages touches and tattooed staff). The only giveaway that youre still in the Royal Borough is the well-heeled crowd. Famously, the artist George Morland had to pay his bar bill here with a painting. Todays drinkers dont look like bills are a problem. The OrderThe drinks have as much substance as style. Get the Little Tokyo (plum wine and egg white), which is different and effective. Tread carefully with Death in the Afternoon (champagne, absinthe, lemon). The food hails from the pub downstairs. This is New York diner fare with a gourmet flourish fries here are made from polenta and drizzled in truffle oil and are delicious. The burgers are a safe bet, though not the easiest first date fodder, but perhaps wise if you favour the Dutch courage approach to dating. The best thing we had was the Nduja (spicy pork) pizza, which Ive been craving ever since. The GameGet the timing right as you dont want to arrive too early. Start the night with dinner downstairs (or outside if its still warm) and then head here for a more intimate drink if things are going well. You leave by the back stairs so you neednt worry about staggering a little after the absinthe-laced cocktails or getting a little frisky. Its perfect for a cosy winter date with extra cachet, and a welcome addition to the repertoire of the West. The FaultsThe Chelsea crowd, though great for people watching, do clash a bit with the trendy, shabby atmosphere.Sex Factor4 Unique, potent cocktails in a brooding environment will leave you repenting for another day and it is absolutely worth it. socialconcierge.co.uk
