Went to Rocca a couple of weeks ago for dinner with a friend. Average food and rather poor service but was basically ok. Noticed a few days later that my credit card had been debited twice so rang them and spoke to a manageress called Ana to find out why this had happened. She said the card company had probably taken the money twice which doesn’t sound especially likely. Sent them a copy of my card statement and have emailed 3 times and called to find out where my money had gone – nothing back from them. Asked for the number of the head office – nothing back from them. Do not go to this restaurant! Your meal could end up being very expensive.
Amazing value and such a gorgeous setting for a very reasonable price! The pizza was a little disappointing. Quite spongey and didn’t hold together well. The crab pasta was much better and I was really glad I went for two mains or I would have missed out on their amazing pasta!
Pizza is good however the rest is very week. Week salad and week calamaris. A bad choice with so many other good restaurants nearby. Service also not very good.
Pizza is great value for money, big serving and delicious. Pizza crust was thin, crispy ant very light – very nice. Service was good and our waiter was so sweet.
Keep Walking….. I went to Rocca on Saturday with two girlfriends for a late lunch. One of our friends is pregnant and having walked around was rather ravenous. We ordered breads to stave off her hunger and 30 minutes later (having asked for it twice) we were still waiting it to arrive. Our waiter informed us that he hated working Saturday lunch times and he was really hungover having gotten to bed at 4am. The Chicken salad was mostly grizzled chicken, not roasted, the salad croutons and you had to fight with a bag of rocket to find any trace of the sweet peppers, which was less than satisfactory and looked totally unappealing. The minestrone soup was rather watery and lacking in noodles and although the Nizzarda (Nicose) salad was probably the ‘best’ dish out of the lot, it still lacked flavor and ingredients – 1 half of a potato and 3 capers is somewhat disappointing. Best to avoid Rocca and spend your money on an establishment where the food listed on the menu is what they actually serve and the staff actually want to work there.
Rocca di Papa SW7. We dine here regularly and find it consistently good. Excellent freshly cooked food, superb friendly service and reasonable prices – what more could anyone ask?
Cool with Museum weary kids. For 3 adults and two musuem’d kids this was perfect for a late Saturday lunch. Lovely pizza, friendly natural staff who were great with the children, and a fairly stylish joint for the adults. About the same prices as Pizza Ex, but a lot better and with tons more pzazz !
