The mezze board was delicious. I had never had beet hummus before, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. The haddock used for the fish and chips, however, had an extremely strong fish flavor. I expect fish to taste like fish, but this was extreme. The ice cream was delicious. Several members of the staff were very friendly, but the woman who brought our food was surly. Lastly, the food was really expensive. I expected pub grub to be cheap and this definitely wasn’t. Bottom line: I enjoyed the pub experience, but I don’t plan to go back.
This pub attracts a young single mingling crowd (students and mid-twenties). Gets quite busy. The food is good and priced reasonably especially given the location. But don’t expect a gastropub sit down feel to it.Expect a few letchy guys who bump into you and don’t apologise.
The best thing about Anglesea is its people. Mingling crowd in their mid-twenties definitely makes an enjoyable complement to your-well, quite an average-beer. Sip it and enjoy the surroundings. Super busy starting since Thursday. Overall, the pub is classic and classy.
Food might not be the best but the atmosphere on a weekend afternoon and evening is great. Famous among Swedes on Friday evenings when loads of Swedes gathers here for afterwork.
Decent little pub near south ken and not busy at all considering closeness to the station. The food is better than your average pub i.e. they are not oven cooked chips! Negative side: it’s a bit expensive for the student wallet and the atmosphere didn’t really rise during the rugby game I watched. However, they sell pretty good ales including Adnam’s Broadside (one of my favourite for flavour and it also comes from one of the most sustainable breweries in the World!). There’s a nice terrace in front to enjoy a smoke or a street-side drink.
