Good english pub with a good variety of dishies. Very good fish and ships and hamgurgers. The room decoration isn’t the strong argument of this pub. The stuff is very nice.
Amazing location but really awful pub. Buzzy atmosphere downstairs but poor decor. Needs seriously updating. Upstairs function room feels like a grubby student bar. My girlfriend asked for soda and fresh lime and it came with a tiny tiny slice of lime which shows serious lack of care.
The Hoop and Toy offer up some very nice, standard pub food. It’s got a good location and is just a quick walk from South Kensington Station. The atmosphere is fun and friendly and it is definitely worth popping in.What impresses me most about the Hoop and Toy is how warm and friendly their staff are: service really is with a smile.Their function room downstairs is worth looking into if you’re planning a work party or something similar. It has its own bar and they keep it well staffed. Overall, I would thoroughly recommend the Hoop and Toy for casual drinks or for use of their function room.
This is definitely not the most charming of pubs in South Kensington. It is, however, very close to the station, and is still a popular pit-stop for workers on the way home. The decor is tired and in desperate need of revamping; the gaming machines have to go. The food menu is uninspiring – so much so, that I have never been inclined to try it myself. Sadly, its lack of soul can’t be rectified by the laid back, friendly staff. All-in-all, If you’re looking for a pub with real atmosphere, I’d suggest going elsewhere in Kensington.
