One of the most overrated pubs in London. I don’t know why people are always going on about it. I agree the surrounding streets and neighborhood is beautiful, but the pub detracts from that whole West London character. The place is in need of a desperate gutting – that dark red stained vibe needs to go, the ceilings are very low and the TV is always blaring in the background. Given you have a range of charming cafes and restaurants in the area, no need to venture into this one.
This is a great little pub to go watch sports – mainly football and rugby games. The drinks are quite cheap for the area (just off South Ken), the food on the other hand is a little expensive and not great. I would recommend sticking to the traditional English pub food (I’ve had the nachos before and the avocado was not the best). I’ve been there in the evening too when there tends to be a really good atmosphere.In summary, I think this is a decent drinking pub where you can grab a quick bite to accompany the booze down.
Traditional British pub two minutes away from South Kensington tube station. Being a football fan, I must say it is a great place to watch games. Food is probably not the best in town, however it’s not what you are looking for when entering a Taylor Walker…Having said that, the burger I had was actually pretty good. Also a solid place to go for drinks. It should not disappoint.
