Went went for my mothers 90th . Had the set menu . The first and second course we’re fine but the last course was not the meat was dry and tasteless. As for the service …. Not once did they ask if all was ok and as for getting drinks we constantly had to ask not vey impressed for a first visit and with 17 of us and to top it off they added an extra 50 on the bill which was not a service charge … Tut tut hence no tip but my dog enjoyed the meat
If you’re looking for an authentic Greek meal, this is the place to be. I had lunch here earlier today and was extremely pleased with both the food and service (a big thank you to Kendi!)I was brought some hummus and freshly grilled pita bread, along with olives to the table. The hummus was smooth and silky. It was also extremely fresh, not too salty or tangy, but just right.I odered the grilled calamari with rice as I heard this was one of their signature dishes. I have a very soft spot for Greek cuisine since I grew up in Greek Town back in Toronto, Canada. My meal arrived and it was beautifully plated. The calamari was perfectly grilled and tender. I must admit that I prefer that it be served whole due to risk of it being over cooked too quickly but it was perfect. The rice was extremely flavourful, fluffy, moist, and perfectly seasoned.I also asked for tzatziki (which is sacrilegious on grilled calamari, I know, but I LOVE it so much). Not only was this the best home made tzatziki I’ve ever had, I shamelessly polished off an entire plate of it!To finish off the meal, I had a Greek coffee and enjoyed the strong roasted bean flavour over powering the garlic taste I had in my mouth.I highly recommend this place and I look forward to coming back soon.
The lamb souvla here is simply to die for. I don’t know what they put on it, but it’s magical. The bread was fresh and straight off the grill and the service is also really friendly. I’ll be back!
Vile! Bad service25 May, 2014Disgusting food and disgusting service! Over priced 12 for a kebab with no bread or salad? Apparently that’s extra? 2.50 for a can of sprite and the dog wouldn’t even eat the chicken from there that I took on white of and spat out!
I have eaten in many Greek restraunts in london and kalamari in chiswick is my favourite. The atmosphere, service and especially the food is amazing. It’s the only Greek restraunt that actually serves Greek beer too. Highly recommend to anyone.
Teamoose. We have been coming here for a few years. the owner always gives us a friendly welcome. the service is very good, with bread, olives (amazing lemony ones are my favourite) and pickled chillies being brought to our table almost immediately along with some cold beers. the taramasalata is the most delicious ever. the kebabs have always been delicious, tender and juicy and the accompanying vegetables done to perfection. when it’s busy the atmosphere is great and when it’s not it’s just a really nice relaxed place to eat. 10/10
Kalamara on a saturday night. This restaurant has a set menu of 19.50 for meze. When the bills comes you will find an additional 2.50 added to your bill for bread you did not ask for and had no idea you would be charged for. An additional 10% is added for service which you may or may not wish to give so an 10 is added to the bill for 2 people. Incidentally the pitta bread is not soft as it should be but crusty – has it been re-toasted? The starters are standard and pre-made. The toasted halloumi served without the traditional slice of ham/lounza. The main course grilled meat is hard not tender. the Greek coffee does not have the usual froth on top. Only one in 6/7 tables were occupied on a Saturday night. a definite no-no. Back to north london where delicious greek food is served!Read more: Kalamari Greek Restaurant in W4 – reviews.
