Glad to try Penang! Fantastic seating area, both inside and out! The service is friendly and attentive. Prices are good and presentation and taste of the food even better! Very impressed. Such a tasty and tender beef rendang. Would highly recommend!
Service was great, and they were more than happy to accommodate my gf dietary needs. It’s not the best Malaysian food I’ve ever had but it’s pretty nice. The prawn pad thai was awesome.
It was a good Malaysian restaurant with decent to good tasting dishes. Might not exactly suiting my palate but was good. The service and the interiors was good too.
Amazing food very tasty, been here over 10 times all the staff are lovely and helpful. Banana fried ice cream is a must
Food is not bad but not exactly authentic in taste. If you are having a craving and missing home food its an ok enough place to get a fix though. Service was fast and good.
My friend and I are big fans of all kinds of Asian food, so from the wide options available in Westfield, we decided to try Penang! – also because they had quite a few veggie options for me.We sat outside, as it wasn’t too cool, and very quickly were taken care of. Our server was very helpful, answered our questions, and gave a few suggestions. We started with Gyoza Sayur. The dumplings were good, and the sauce they were served with was absolutely fantastic! For my main I had the veggie version of Sayur Campur with jasmine rise, which was served in an adorable bamboo (I think) bowl. In spite of sambal oelek present in the dish, it wasn’t insanely spicy. Very nice crispy, not overcooked vegetables in a pleasant sauce. My friend had Mee Goreng and was very happy with it too.I had Teh Tarik tea. An interesting milk tea, quite good. My friend had fresh mint tea with big mint leaves floating in her glass.
Perhaps the first place to bring Malaysian cuisine to the masses in London, but it’s not exactly authentic. Saying that it’s not a bad place, just don’t expect to be blown away by the food. I’ve had the beef rendang and as it says on the menu, it’s tasty. Tried the pad thai and it was just too sweet, couldn’t finish it. The decor is funky, staff polite, given the prices, it’s very good value for money.
