Lovely Polish gem near Shep Bush. Small but cozy and very authentic, I’m half Polish. Bellini starters are a great way to kick off and the goulash main is sumptuous. Some great Polish vodkas at the bar too. Not cheap but well worth it for the quality and friendly Polish service
Wonderful Experience.. Having read some mixed reviews about the Tatra I must confess I was a little anxious about taking a group of 10 diners to give it a try. But I need not have worried. The service was very friendly and attentive, we were really well looked after and our waiter was happy to advise us on the menu and make recommendations. The restaurant are beautifully decorated. We had several vodka shots that were fantastic and the food was just lovely too. I had leg of duck as main course which melted off the bone, absolutely delicious. All my companions also enjoyed their dining experience and we’ll definetely be going back in the future. Thank you Tatra for a great evening!
Horrible food. Firstly I must mention to you that I am not the kind of writing rewievs person but this time I felt i had to…We’ve been at Tatra a few days ago to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday. The service and wine were fine but food was disappointing. I spent 2 months in Gdansk (Poland) last summer and I was so excited to try polish food again, but if you’re looking for a genuine Pierogi or Bigos this ain’t it! Everything we ordered was salty or tasteless. Pierogi and Russian Pierogi were too greasy. Bigos – hunter’s stew was old, salty and hardly see a meat. My boyfriend ordered a Duck and it was too dry and tasteless. I wish we had spend 60 pounds in place with fresh and tasty polish food. I recommend that you choose one of the alternatives, as they are plenty of them!
Disappointment. Encouraged by the excellent reviews, I had chosen Tatra to introduce friends to Polish cuisine. And what a disappointment! Despite reservation 3 weeks in advance, the table wasn’t ready for us, we had to wait for another party to leave. Other then that the service was good.The only dish that was actually fresh was the herring salad and crumble on the apple and rhubarb crumble. Everything else was definitely prepared in advanced, frozen and reheated – including pierogi!In both duck and pork shrank, meat was very dry and very unpleasant to eat. Dumplings accompanying the duck were burned to the point that they were not edible. Seriously – nothing was fresh there (not even the cabbage side dishes!) – not tasty, really not nice to eat; in fact we haven’t finished the main courses. Cream brule and crumble were OK, however cheesecake clearly wasn’t as both portions went back to the kitchen only half eaten.This was an important dinner for me and I deeply regret choosing Tatra. Perhaps the food was nice and fresh there in the past – not anymore!Very, very poor quality of food.

Food is lighter than expected at first when thinking of a Polish Restaurant . Nice culinary surprise.Great food and portions at unbelievable value.Highly recommended!!!!
Not good if you dont eat Pork. I guess I eat a lot at this restaurant since my colleagues like it, but since I dont eat pork I find the menu somewhat limited. So personally I would not choose to eat there of my own volition, but hey if you like pork apparently the dishes are quite good!
Best restaurant. Fabulous food, (pirogi amazing, bigos and Duck excellent) . Definitely one of my top restaurants inexpensive, great service and amazing home made vodkas.
