  Often I used to go for a run from Peckham to oval then Id think oh actually Ill get a kebab from fm mangal and walk the rest. If you go in to eat the onion and bread starter stuff if phenomenal

  Nice food, terrible shocking rude service. We went to FM Mangal as a Friday diner treat but we left upset. On arrival, we ordered a plate of mezze to share and a main dish each. After waiting for an hour, i have asked the waitress where were our cold mezze and she said they were coming… they never did. We finally got our main dishes with no apologies for the delay in serving our food. By that point we were so hungry that we buried the idea of cold mezze. I ordered the vegetarian kebab (grilled aubergine, onions, peppers, mushrooms) but somehow the aubergines were missing off the plate. Finally, comes the time for the bill. They managed to bill us for our cold mezze that we never had the pleasure to eat. the food was nice enough but ruined by the terrible customer service .. what a shame but my god how can you be more rude et incompetent?

  Great Food. Shame about the service. I booked this restaurant IN PERSON, two weeks before our intended lunchtime visit and watched the manager/owner make a note of it in the reservations book. On arriving with my party, I was told by the same person (or his identical twin, if he has one) that no such booking exists, they don’t have a booking system and they’d never seen me in their lives. We were, nevertheless, given a table and on asking for the lunchtime menu, were told that it did not apply. This was despite the fact that we were well within the period during which this menu operated. Mystifyingly, a lunchtime menu was then produced a few minutes later. Unsurprisingly, with all this, we felt somewhat uncomfortable and perhaps unwelcome, even. We will not be going back. Pity. We were a party of seven and had the service been acceptable, we could have foreseen future visits with twice that number, on lunchtime and other outings. Done themselves brilliantly out of significant future revenue.

  Great Food, Great Price & Great People. I used to be a local at Camberwell and this was without a doubt the best restaurant around. To be honest it is the best turkish I’ve tried in London so far. The staff would always greet you with a smile and willingness to make you comfortable. On several occasions we would get starters on the house which are awesome (Get the grilled onions, they are fantastic). The food was always fantastic and great value. I do prefer the dinner time menu to the lunch menu though. All in all, go here for dinner and you’ll have a great time, but get there early, they fill up quick!

  Disapointing. This restaurant was recommended to me by my nephew. I checked the reviews and decided to take a chance. I should have known better, as he has had little experience of eating out !! The food was very poorly presented, the hot and cold meze to share appeared to have been just slopped onto the plates. The services was also poor, the waitress impatient and hurried. I could barley see the main course, by the time it arrived, it was so dark. Chicken shish kebab, with rice. It was more charcoal than chicken. The charcoaled veg was black !! Presentation was appalling, I could barley see what I was eating. I left with the impression that the lighting was so dim, to disguise the appalling food.

  I have visited FM Mangal few time over last summer time and the food as well as service was good considering the budget price. Today i have booked table for four on the ground floor requesting front section. I have confirmed the table booking twice over the phone since brought close friends to whom i have recommended mangal. Firstly my table was not reserved despite of previous reassurance over the phone. The waitress sat us at the table next to the toilets which was not acceptable. At the end we were given table in front room but orders were incredibly delayed. Waited for starter 40 min and main was served with more than 60min delay. Three of us ordered chicken sish with yogurt which was cool and not hot and no offence but looked like a pile of vomit. Absolutely awful!! Even the usual gratitude baklava and shot off amaretto will not change my mind. I am certainly not back in your restaurant. Dreadful service and horrid food.
