I have never eaten in Lamoon, so I cannot comment on the general ambiance of the place, however, I love their menu. This is not dirty chinese food, but chinese food that is well cooked, well prepared. The menu is varied, and healthy in places too! This is definitely my preferred place to get chinese food in Camberwell.
The best in Camberwell.. Every time I have eaten here the food has always been of a consistently high standard. It is far better than other local takeaways. It serves clean, authentic, fresh and tasty dishes. The lovely family who run the restaurant are always very attentive and provide a great dining experience. I would highly recommend the crispy duck pancakes and the fried tofu with chilli- mouthwatering! Enjoy!
Disappointing. My boyfriend and I have just had our first take away since moving to the Camberwell area, and chose Lamoon because it was close by and had mostly good reviews. We were extremely disappointed with the food. We ordered chicken satays for staters which tasted burnt, and duck spring rolls which were ok with the sauce but bland on their own. Our main dishes were the crispy shredded beef which was quite tasty but couldn’t find any beef, just crispy clumps, and also the pork cantonese style char siu. There was a lot of meat but nothing else and it had no taste at all. For nearly 30 I was expecting a lot more.
Good food and service. My wife and I like this restaurant, it has a homely feel nice and intimate and the food is of a good standard. We like the starter for two, beef in black bean sauce served sizzling and the pan fried fish. The chinese tea is very refreshing too and keeps getting topped up.
