Of the many wanabe indian cuisine masterchefs in the city, this one is truly close to the authenticity. The mutton Naga Bhuna was spicy hot and sitting in London, that was a rare experience. So was the Mirchi Gosht and the Bengali stuffed chicken. By the menu it seems more of a Bangladeshi cuisine than Indian. But being a Bengali I truly enjoyed their food.
Ordered on Just Eat.Didn’t like it much.The veg jalfrezi was very bland, in spite of asking them to make it spicy.The spinach dal was good though.Naans are too thick and the garlic naans was just not good.The lemon pilao was nothing great either.Entirely missable. The New Dewaniam serves reliably good North Indian cuisine at good value. My favourites here include the Chicken Tikka Masala (6.90), Chicken Biryani (6.90) and Saag Aloo (3.20). Good service and food, both when dining in or going for a home delivery.
I’ve only had take away from here so I cannot comment on the actual premises (although they look very nice from the outside!). It had a great menu, really varied and the food is really well prepared and cooked. The delivery is always great, always on time and never takes more than an hour, which is always a good thing.
