About
Just three doors to the left of Canterbury Cathedral Gate Canteen serves freshly made flatbreads, salads, baguettes, toasties, jacket potatos and daily hot dish / soup. Everything is made to order from freshly prepared ingredients using local suppliers wherever possible. The building dates back to around 1600 and from the windows you can get glimpses of the Cathedral (particularly from the loo !). It is a rather rickety building so you need to be OK with stairs as our seating is over three floors. We provide eat in or take away food and a large variety of hot and cold drinks including smoothies and juice pressed on the premises. Due to popularity we also now serve delicious cream teas.Details

Looking for somewhere to have lunch, I discovered this place, certainly a old building with quirky staircases. But the food was good and the service was friendly and excellent
Having moved to a more central position in Canterbury , Garage have not dropped there standards but improved by having fantastic food to go with the fantastic coffee .Very attentive staff makes it a must visit when in Canterbury !!
Really recommend this place as somewhere to eat lunch – we enjoyed it so much that we visited twice during our three day stay in Canterbury.Great salads, tasty flatbread sandwiches, and really good smoothies. I can’t actually fault the place.
Just near the cathedral, a good place to eat something and drink during the visit of Canterbury. The place is very old, with a good decoration. The staff is nice. The food is good and not very expensive.
You can count on friendly service, a selection of freshly prepared toasted filled flatbreads, tasty soups, tempting cakes and reasonable prices. Canteen is a stone’s throw from the Cathedral in a rambling old building, full of character, but with rather too many stairs for some.
