Kudos to Kudos. Hard to think that this open and airy, well lit, nicely decorated restaurant with tasty food and girls in cheongsams and fascinators could be the same building which was lit by strobes, smelling strongly of pot and resonating madly to the sound of Hawkwind playing Silver Machine at full volume whilst we huddled together passing joints around plus the occasional skull for shock value. Now the music is smoother and a whole lot softer, the lighting is very good and the only thing that gives a hint of the past is the glitterball on the ceiling. The food is not cheap but is excellently cooked and as far from what you get in a take-away as the new decor is to the original but that’s also a good thing, Kudos does take away and even delivery so you can have this at home too.Personally I would rather be there and be looked after by the very attractive and knowledgeable staff but different folks for different strokes.Definitely worth going to when in Canterbury which is starting to regain it’s former reputation for good eating.
