Poor service. I’ve taken my wife here twice, both times have left a lot to be desired.On the first occasion the service was below average, with us waiting until after our starters to get a drink, and having to repeatedly try to get attention for a second later on. The food however was fine.The second visit, however, was appalling. We were fine with the 10 minute wait for a table as we were made aware of it on arrival (the reason was they needed to clean and set tables, despite there being a number already set – however I’m aware that that this is often done to slow a service down so the cooks can cope).Once seated we were left with a menu to view. And left. Left a bit longer. And longer still. Eventually I managed to get the attention of someone to take our order. Our starter arrived and was fine, and we got drinks prior to it on this occasion (though it was still a longer wait than previously). Eventually our main courses arrived and, while mine was fine the requested changes for my pregnant wife were ignored – so the mushrooms and chillis that she asked not to have in her meal were there in abundance. The waitress confirmed that she had given the request to the chef, he’d obviously just chosen to ignore it. As we’d been in the restaurant nearly 1.5 hours by this time and had an appointment to keep 30 minutes later my wife decided to pick out what was visible and eat as much as she could of the rest, which worked out at less than half of the meal. When settling our bill I would normally have expected an apology from the duty manager for the poor service, however he never approached the table the entire time that we were there.We’ve been to several branches of Zizzi around the country and have always had great food and service from them, particularly the one in Cardiff. However they clearly can’t cope with a half full restaurant at our local one, which is a shame.
Went last week and disapointed. Service really slow and food average. Nice location but won’t be returning as lots of better Italians throughout city.
Not the best meal I’ve ever had. Starters were nice, mains were average and cold but desserts were lovely. The service was I have to say the best thing about Zizzi. This was a bit of a let down considering I’ve been to Zizzi in Chester a few times and it’s always been first class.
Wonderful food, great wine, lovely beautiful surroundings and the staff were excellent and very friendly. Possibly my favourite restaurant!
World class service, the little foriegn woman is a ledge and sooooo nice. Food was lovely, it’s all about buffalo milk!!!
