The ambiance at this place is cool. From the music, to the decoration… I ordered a Michelada which I liked. But food wise, I dont think it is the place to have Mexican food. We had a Mexican friend with us and she thought the same thing.
I really enjoyed it here – simple choice of tacos that were very delicious and the margaritas certainly went down well! Atmosphere was good and the service excellent. Definitely worth checking out if youre in Camden area – plus you get free entry to the small club upstairs so you can head up for a dance after dinner.
This review is about the refusal of service in Cafe Chula. I went there with the plan to have lunch, but the waiter profusely ignored me, be it because I did not fit the target audience, maybe he just didn’t like my face. Anyways he spent his valuable time surfing on his smartphone and then cleaning a table. i naively assumed that he would take that as an opportunity to hand me a menu, but boy was I wrong: He continued to actively ignore me even while I left the premises. An interesting approach especially since the cafe was not exactly full. apart from me there were just 3 young ladies.In summary staff could use a refresher training on essentials in customer service. Until that happens I recommend to avoid this place
I absolutely love cafe chula!!! The bartenders are to die for and make the experience amazing. They make the best margaritas in London and cook the best quesadillas. A must see!
Awesome authentic Mexican!. I love Mexican food and am delighted to say that the real deal is sitting in the middle of Camden Town! Great Margaritas (try the hibiscus or cucumber and jalapeno) and food to die for. So many people in the UK mix up Tex Mex and real Mexican food…if you are unsure of the difference…get down to Cafe Chula!10 Oct, 2012YEAH!. Awesome Mexican in Camden at last! Been getting my fix from the random stands that you can find scattered in the stables market until discovered this little beauty underneath one of my fave bars Lockside Lounge. The crispy fish taco is TO DIE FOR! Also they do possibly the best margarita I’ve had which is a tall order. The menu spans across breakfast lunch and dinner so I have plenty to try yet but so far all has been delightfully outstanding.
Amazing Mexican. I’m from California–this is good mexican! And tequila of a standard I’ll drink. Freshly muddled margaritas. I won’t go anywhere else for MX food. I like how casual it is and that it can be a snack or a meal. Love it.
