Robbery. Hugely overpriced and skimpy on portions as well.If you want to eat good dim sum or good Chinese dinner food and have a floating restaurant experience I recommend the Lotus Floating restaurant. We were hoping to have a similar experience at Feng Shang but we were thoroughly disappointed here.We spent 65 pounds and what we got was: a beer, a green tea, a starter of soft shell crab, rice and two mains which I will describe. One was a measly portion of prawns in black bean sauce with a few token vegetables and the other was stir-fried scallops in ginger and garlic, which contained only four scallops and again some token soggy vegetables – I am pretty sure the baby corn was from a tin and not fresh. For 32.50 per person I would expect to be full. I understand the location may demand a small premium per dish but they should at least serve decent portions instead of skimping out. We left hungry to top ourselves up on food elsewhere. We did have a look at the dessert menu out curiosity – it mostly looked like pre-packed desserts from a supplier. We certainly will not be going back here ever.
Stunning restaurant Our original spot to try was an Italian place up in Belsize Park but sadly without checked that holiday closing times online the restaurant was closed by the time we arrived. That whole night was freezing cold so we were trying to locate the closest place after deciding to go Chinese and google maps refereed us to Feng Shang princess rated 4.0. We walked down roughly 20 min in the freezing cold (hoping the restaurant worth it in our heads) by the time we reached the place it looked mysterious and magical in the night with the extra New Years lighting and soon realised we’ve passed this place several times in the morning and didn’t realise it was a restaurant. We walk in and ask for a table for 2 the waiter quickly asked if we had reservations (not knowing it’s so popular and customers are allowed in to dine on reservation basis) fortunately he excused us and let us in- we had the table next to the window with the view outside it looked so ‘romantical’ with such authentic atmosphere and warmth to the place we felt at ease. Exploring the menu everything sounded good but me being limited to ‘halal’ only I opted more seafood and my friend engaged in the decision we chose from 2 starter and 2 main courses (since we were sharing anyways and wanted to explore out options) we ordered vegetarian spring rolls and crab with mango and then 1 prawn stir fry and 1 seafood stir fry. All the food tasted amazing and was worth it in the end. The waiter then presented us with the deserts menu but we were way too full to try fit another dish and we’re excused. Overall our cost for 2 was on 55 average (which I think it’s considerably good in terms of food and locationWill definitely recommend this place! Esp trying Chinese for the first time I must say I’m delighted
I came back to this place after trying a year ago. Feng Shang Princess is an authentic chinese resturaunt very close to regents park and to Camden town. The food is amazing, and the service is very fast.
