Local para os fs de Amy whinehouse e cerveja. Localizado no Camden Town, o bar fica um pouco distante do centro mais turstico, mas facilmente acessado pelo metr. Variedade de hambrgueres e cervejas. Bom atendimento e preo razovel.

Aside from having Amy Winehouse as a former client, the Hawley Arms has very little going for it these days and seems to be surviving on former glories. Head along on a Friday or Saturday night and you’ll never find a seat, and struggle to find a place to stand: the pub is always hideously packed out despite being a large place. Service is slow and drinks are fairly expensive: this wouldn’t be a problem were it not for the fact it lacks any atmosphere to make up for this. When I’ve tried the food it seemed microwaved to me, certainly not worth the money I paid for a Sunday roast. The Lock Tavern, a few minutes walk up the road, is a similar place but far superior.

The Hawley Arms was famously one of Amy Winehouse’s haunts, and I actually had the pleasure of seeing here there once. Now we’ve got that out the way, because I’m sure everyone who knows the pub is tired of hearing about it, I can get on to complimenting the place. It has great style, wax-laden bottles holding candles and stag heads mounted to the walls, large ceiling fans adding a cooling breeze to the sultry ambiance. There’s lots of space to sit. In short, it’s a great place to have a drink. While the food is pretty average, it’s good enough for the venue to make up for it. I seem to remember they provide servings of chips in pint glasses, that’s pretty cool I guess…

This is probably my favourite pub in Camden. It’s as trendy as it gets. Having lived in Camden for two yeas, the Hawley has pride of place when it comes to attracting the stars. I spotted Amy Winehouse there twice, and spent an evening with Russell Brand’s father. The feel of the place is almost up-itself cool, but really, it is that cool. There is a bar both upstairs and down, with comfortable outside areas for those chilled drinks on those sweaty summer days. The food? You don’t really go to the Hawley for the food. You insist? Fine. Get the BLT. It isn’t half bad!Screw Flanders.

Resurrected like a phoenix, the Hawley arms is only improving with age. the booze is cheap, and so are the women. People do go there for the food, but most fun will be had at night. There’s a great outside and upstairs area and they often have live music, the quality of which is occasionally questionable but then I once did walk in to hear Amy Winehouse do an impromptu gig. Keep a dime for the jukebox – it has some awesome tunes!
