Cheyne Walk Brasserie is a great spot. Atmosphere is charming with great service and an extensive menu and wine list to boot. I started with the scallops which were beautifully cooked and flavoursome. For the main course I had the sole which, while tasty, was very boney, ruining the experience somewhat. Despite this, I think it’s a reliable choice and would definitely go back!

Tucked away behind private gardens, surrounded by quaint riverside homes, and just a stone’s throw from Albert Bridge, this little French brasserie sits waiting to be found.I’m generally always early, but on this occasion, I found myself sheepishly standing at the maitre’d’s station 40 minutes after our reservation time- naughtiness! However,no fuss was made and we were greeted warmly before being led to our table. The staff were friendly and informative, telling us immediately about the specials and always being accessible for our foodie questions, orders and extra glasses of fizz- hey, it was a long day, ok?!The dcor is traditional: cosy, warm andintimate, andnone of this minimalist, clean-cut style of itscompetitors. A huge grill sits on one side of the restaurant, where the chef can be seen throwing fillets of wagyu and whole sea bream onto the flames, emitting smells to tempt the most disciplined of taste buds. Despite being 8pm on a Saturday night, the restaurant was actually very quiet and we had plenty of elbow room.I wouldn’t call myself particular as such, but I do appreciate the aesthetics of a meal, and believe that an aesthetically pleasing presentation of a meal miraculously enhances the diningexperience. I was therefore delighted to drinks from a champagne tulip and eat from plates decorated simply and accessibly. Our starter of snails (when in Rome) came simplified: the snails had been removed from their shells and instead, sat in an oozing, buttery sauce whose main ingredients was garlic. Delish, but not for vampires, nor those looking to get lucky! For mains, I ordered their house starter with a variety of sides, which was actually the perfect amount. Juicy figs had beenwrapped in crisp prosciutto andmelting Roquefort, served with a rocket and parmesan salad. The perfect marriage of ingredients, itwas light yet sating. My dining partner dug into the sea bream, which was deboned upon his request, to minimise interference inhis enjoyment of the soft, white fish. The highlight was dessert. It appears as a small, harmless, chocolate pud which when broken into, oozes a rich, warm, chocolate goo. Pair this with the cold, sweet ice cream, you’ve found a match made in heaven- divine! It will convert anyone into suddenly finding a small- ok, a pudding size- space in their already-sated stomach. This is a place to come to satisfy a meat craving, asalthough there are some interesting veggie options, everything seems slightly enhanced by sprinklings of prosciutto or some such meaty enhancement. That aside, it seems a bit of a waste to visit somewhere that offer such high quality meat/ fresh fish.It is a lovely, classicbrasserie in a great location. They offer a function room upstairs which proves popular for leaving drinks, staff parties and wedding parties. londonismyplayground.wordpress.com

Hits the Spot for French Fare. ..>Loved everything about it. The food was delicious, the service was exceptional and its just a lovely version of a slightly-upscale French neighborhood brasserie.

The staff made us feel like second class citizens because we had vouchers. My chicken was burnt. In general not a good experience.
