I had the fish and chips – the peas were fantastic, really beautifully flavoured; the fish was good, crispy batter, soft flaky fish inside; chips were nice big chunky chips served generously.Menu could do with a main salad or vegan/non-dairy option.Would come were again for sure.
Appropriately named, this ‘higher caliber’ pub is a really nice treat. Tucked away in Chelsea, I only stumbled upon it because of misdirection. It seems to be frequented by their neighborhood, and not many outsiders.Though this is part of the Young’s family, this pub is distinctly a step above most. The food is superb. My father and I had the slow roasted lamb shoulder (35 to share) Sunday Roast, the ‘Surprise’ ale (on tap and so nice) and finished off with coffees. They also make a really sharp mint sauce that went beautifully with the lamb. Truly, the meal was one of the best Roasts I’ve had in London! The photos speak for themselves! I’m so glad that I could bring my NY dad for a traditional British roast that triumphed in flavor, portion and presentation.
