This pub attracts a mixed crowd. It can be a lot of fun. It’s the sort of pub to watch sports or have a drink with your team in your kit after playing sports yourself. People are friendly and will strike up a bit of chat with everyone. It gets quite busy. There is usually a bit of crowd drinking outside in good weather. The staff are lovely. It’s not pretentious in the slightest and far from a gastropub. I would eat at home or over the road and come here for a casual drink and laugh with friends.
Visited March 2013Met up at Sydney arms with some friends visiting London – they picked this place because they wanted to see the rugby game. I wish I had eaten before.. Very poor roasted chicken – greasy and total lack of flavours. Fries were soft and tasteless. I tried one of my husband’s mini burgers and it was terrible too. This place is really just for drinks and watching sports. I will not judge the service as this place was a madhouse because of the game, maybe it is better on a normal day. sweervywine.com
