Date of Visit: 22.09.17Time: 6.30pmReview: A Culinary feast for your taste buds. You enter by having to press a bell on what seems like a normal chelsea town house like you are going to your friends house for a dinner party and you are greeted the same by name and so you fell like a friend/family member from the start. Service is impeccable. Menu and drinks options fully explained and the good thing about the sampling menu is you have only a simple choice of either vegetarian and non-veg menu and then you get to sample a full 12 course meal. So especially good for those who can never decide what to have on the menu. There is still some flexibility as we were able to swap out the fish dishes. And the chef made some sugar free items for my mother who is diabetic on the spot which shows real care and ability to think and shows how everything even though a sampling menu must be made fresh. We have been to Indego in Dubai but this is a completely different concept and flavour profile. Each item is explained in great detail as it arrives and dish after dish lands on your table with an explosion of taste and visual appearance. In total the 12 course delight took us 3 hours but i would say you could easily spend 3-5 hours in a sit in without even realising where the time went. Each dish arriving without delay and each dish with a unique flavour and texture. Everyone coming in surprised to note you get to taste the whole menu in essence and still cannot believe how much we ended up eating. My father who is usually picky and does not like mushrooms still loved all the dishes including the one that included mushrooms so this must be a little indication on how good the food is. I have seen many fine dining resturant menus but never an indian with vegetarian option. I must say make the time and dont have lunch prior to coming as you will want to taste everythingyou can even ask for more if you wish but be careful not to fill up before being able to enjoy the entire menu. If you only have the time or budget to try one fine dining resturant this year this is the one to save up for. I have eaten so much i dont think i will be eating for days and worth every penny. Service is second to none and everything presented with a smile with everyone happy and making the whole event even more enjoyable. All dished had the right element of taste and texture with each course being different but each complimenting each other without overpowering the other. You pallet is tested, excited and refreshed and manipulated.a real pleasure on your taste buds and eyes as everything is also beautifully presented with consistency throughout.Booking Process: Booked via email and received an email when they opened and always helpful and explained everything, sending numerous reminders of the confirmation. Very easy process and able to swap out the fish dishes for vegetarian options on the non-veg sample menu. So very flexible.Location: 10 Lincoln St, SW3 2TS London, United KingdomDecor & Lighting: You walk into a small hallway and is it a converted home and although a small venue you have two rooms and split between a small bar. Space is fine and you are able to move around without bumping into everyone. Lighting is dim but not dark, i think just right.Ambience & Acoustics: Great feeling but without any background music it does sometimes feel a little too quiet but you can have conversations with ease.DB Level: 55-65db which is the same as a quiet to normal conversation.Drinks: Bar was able to make special non-alcoholic drinks as requested, I had a special lemonade with some spice but just enough and very refreshing. Everything explained to a tee by your server from the drinks to the food.We had the following:Food: 2 of the vegetarian sample menus and one of the non-veg sample menus but able to swap out the fish with veggie options.Desert: As this was a sampling menu (only thing on offer) you had a selection of desserts and all explained as they land on your table one after another after another. Great selection each with its own unique taste and texture.Bill / Cost: Around 350.00 for three which included our 15% discount but without champagne or alcoholConclusion: A great place to come for a special occasion, you will be looked after like a king and very informative and friendly staff who really care, they were able to make items especially for my mother who is diabetic so on the spot without even prior notice made some sugar free items which is a testimate to the venue and chef. Do however make sure of two things.1. come with an empty stomach. You will be amazed at the amount of food you will eat. 2. Ensure you come with time to spare as we were presented with dish after dish and took 3 hours and sure you could easily spend another 1-2 hours on top.You are never rushed and in fact encouraged to pace yourself and slow down even. You should not miss out to experience this. They also have two private dining rooms so do enquire.Rating: 9.5 out of 10.0 m3jal.com
