Awful.Awful service and awful food. They insisted we order extra food to meet the minimum charge , forgot our water, werent particularly nice and cleared our table/ gave us the bill in a hurry ( although by the time we left there wasnt anyone waiting for a table). The service wouldve been forgiven had the food been good, but no, it took two bites of the pork noodles to make me feel sick and the buns had absolutely no taste. My friends did not fare any better with their dishes. The only decent thing was the sweet potato fries…

Baozi Inn. When – Friday, June 2 at about 9.30pm. What we ordered – Baozi bun (pork filling), Dan Dan Noodles, Spicy Chicken Noodles, grape fruit tea, brown rice tea. I had never been here before so was moderately excited to be trying something new in ol’ London town. I’m cheap, so wanted somewhere cheap, and come with preconceived ideas of how cheap Asian food should be, given what I can get in Sydney and my hometown of Melbourne. 15 dumplings for $8? Yes please. So Baozi Inn promised cheap eats, it’s featured in a few guides for that sort of thing. The bun that the place seems to be named after, or vice versa comes in at 2.80 and is ok, though it lacks some of the punchyness in flavour I’ve come to expect in pork buns. The chicken in the Spicy Chicken Noodles was tender and frankly, amazing. The noodles themselves however, lacked any sort of flavour whatsoever, and it was only when half the meal has been eaten and everything drops in the bowl and mixes with the chilli oil does the flavour really start to mean something. And again, it was awesome. The Dan Dan my partner had was according to her, too peppery, though when my garbage guts face started plowing through her left overs, the overwhelming feeling I got was of salt. Mind you, it was yummy, but even I couldn’t properly tackle the rest of it after my meal. These were both 9.80 or so each. The tea really disappointed me, I can’t believe I’m paying 1.80 for a tea bag and water. That was the brown tea. The grape fruit was at least actual grape fruit in hot water. The decor is nice and clean, as is the toilet (it all counts) and the service is super quick. I’m giving 3 stars because for cheap and cheerful feeling it’s a win, but I don’t feel it has overall value for money, and certainly it loses me with the tea bag and the fact there was no actual water which is essentially for food heavy in salt and spice like this stuff tends to be.

Went for the bao but what a huge disappointment to both the product and service, unfortunately I didn’t capture any photo of it, the meat tastes like it was soaked in soy sauce, so it was merely salty, and I expected more flavourful taste with well marinated meat. Bao itself was nothing special, not particularly soft, and worse was the service, a girl serving at the front looked like she was sick of her job and pulled a black face towards us, and the way she asked us to wait outside the shop was so rude, definitely won’t come back to such place. huiminshere.wordpress.com

What a fantastic place! The food was delicious and the menu was simple to understand. A problem I have with Chinese food is that sometimes I don’t recognise the dish just by the name. But this place eliminates that problem and has photos. Everything tasted great and I highly recommend this place to people looking for authentic Chinese food.

Service is basic and sometimes unfriendly, but the food is absolutely outstanding and very well-priced. Order the Dan Dan noodles with pork, I trust you will never have tasted anything quite like it. Great location, too. Cash only, so come prepared. theswindian.com

I love street food! The more the place makes me doubt if my stomach will be ok tomorrow the better. They do nice skewers where you pick any meat you want (fish balls, tofu, internals, broccoli) and everything gets chucked into this pot of suspicious looking spicy brown water. So good! operationgoodfood.wordpress.com

Visited Baozi Inn a few years ago, just before I moved to China. I remember this being one of the more authentic Chinese restaurants that Chinese actually liked.Food was well priced, I liked the cosy size of the restaurant and the decent food.
