Great food with amazing flavours. We found this gem in Chinatown after a friend recommended this to us. A small place, so you can expect some waiting time before you get a table. I had the nasi lemak which is a Malaysian traditional dish and totally loved it. The flavours in the dish are great. We also had the roti canai, crispy pork rolls, chilli prawns with okra and nasi gorenj. The highlight of the meal was definitely the nasi lemak and the Malaysian tea and coffee here.
In China town. They have good Chinese food at a very affordable price. The service is fast but the place is nothing special. The food is served in very large doses.
Absolutely disgraceful service from the waitress. Charged our card more than was on the bill, met with incredibly rude and frankly childish behavior when questioned. Avoid at all costs. A trip to this restaurant is a certain disappointment.
I was in London with my two friends and I made an research and find this restaurant really interesting. It was really difficult to find this place but we made it! Staff is very helpful here, we didn’t know what choose and they told us which dishes are the most popular. So we decided to take :Singapore Laksa – this soup is very very big, I think it’s great for two persons, it’s also very spicy- for me too much spicy, but generally the soup is great- all fishes, chicken, shrimps and vegetables were very fresh and it was delicious! I think it’s a must try soup”C & R Chilli Chicken- it was a chicken with sweet and chilli sauce with rice and it was really really tasty! I love dishes like this, it was more sweet like spicy but after Singapore Laksa it was great. The one thing which was weird was a tomato in this dish, because i think it just don’t go with pepper and onion.Char Kway Teow – it was a little bit like Pad Thai and I like it but for me there was lackness of some freshness like lemon, shrimps were very fresh and noodles were amazing. The worst was chicken Teryiaki because it was just rice , lettuce and pieces of chicken with sauce Teryiaki from the bottle. The guy who helped us choose our menu didn’t mention this dish so maybe that was the point. It was simply a mistake that we took it.I think this restaurant is worth to go there and try their menu.
After reading some pretty positive reviews, I went to C & R with high expectations and a hopeful palette. However, it seems I was destined to be only moderately satisfied with our order of hainanese chicken rice, roti canai and chicken noodles. The roti canai was quite nice and is usually a safe bet, but the chicken noodles were bland and dry and not really worth our time. I was hoping for an authentic and enjoyable chicken rice and it was presented nicely, but was not exactly a hit as everything about it was just alright – the rice was a bit mushy, the red sauce too sweet and there was no green sauce. The service was fine and typical of such a restaurant, but the layout inside was quite cluttered and very noisy, to the point that hearing yourself was at times difficult. All in all, the meal was adequate considering the price we paid but if you’re seeking an authentic Singaporean or Malaysian meal, don’t hold your breath.
I love this place, everything here is delicious. So far my favourite dish are singaporean laksa & nasi lemak. They came on big portions and taste really good
