Im a regular at this place. Me and my husband used to come here any time we came into central. I would always order the sweet and sours chicken with egg fried rice and he would order ma po tofu with egg fried rice. The bubble tea was amazingly tasty. Its a shame it closed down when we tried to visit the last time. I hope its because of renovation and not permanent.

This is a great spot to hit after a night out in Leicester square, its open till 4/5am and the crispy noodles are delicious! You may have to wait for a table but it will be worth it. The duck with pancakes is also delicious, I have never had any complaints.

Good, not great. ORDER: BBQ Roast Duck Cantonese Style (portion size, pictured), Chicken Kung Po, Hot & Sour Soup, Steamed Rice, Hot Lemon Tea.ROAST DUCK: Very good, but extremely annoying to eat. Lots of bones and/or cartilage that was annoying to eat around. Worth getting to say you’ve had roast duck, but the annoyance of eating it would ensure I didn’t ever get it again from HK.CHICKEN KUNG PO: I enjoyed it but my wife (who ordered it) was not a huge fan. She also thought the hot & sour soup was a bit too thick/stewlike.RICE: Was rice.LEMON TEA: Black tea base with three sliced lemons and perhaps some lemon infusion. Very good.OTHER: They tried to overcharge us by 20. May have been an innocent mistake, may have not been. OVERALL: Good, but would probably not repeat.

Excellent meal. When we arrived, there was a line, but it moves fairly quickly. We ordered the hot & sour soup and a wonton soup – both excellent. The crispy duck looked so good as we waited in line, that we had to order it. And it did not disappoint. Overall a delicious meal which I am still dreaming about, 2 weeks after we ate it. We can’t find this authentic Chinese/Cantonese in New Orleans!

Cracking meal, came here with my girlfriend 9pm sat night, restaurant busy with Chinese which I took as a good sign, waited five mins for table and ordered the ‘F’ set meal for 2. Beautiful baked soft shell crab, lobster, salt pepper squid, scallops, fish, big portions of top notch food which we couldn’t finish and reasonably priced. I’ve eaten in china town a few times and this has been the best so far

Service Charge Fury. HK Diner has always been my Chinese restaurant of choice when heading out into China Town, however, after my experiences there yesterday I felt compelled to write a review. There were 5 of us dining in total, and we all ordered a dish with rice on the side yet still the waiter decided to only give us 3 rice bowls….what did they expect the other two to do?When the food arrived, it was quite literally just thrown at us. Did it matter if I didn’t order the squid? No, because it was put in front of me anyway. When we did recognise the dishes we had ordered, we would let the waiter know it was ours, but he’d still put it infront of someone else anyway. Same for the drinks, which came last. Asking us whose drink was whose, we would tell the waiter, yet, they all went down where ever the waiter felt he wanted to put them. I even reached out to take my drink from him, but this was un noticed and it was placed at the other end of the table. This kind of service angers me, as the waiters are there to provide a service and surely if the customer is paying money to dine there, they should atleast behave like they are grateful for the custom and act like they actually give a damn. i was further enraged by the fact that we then had to stump up a 10% service charge…for what service? Infact, we had just witnessed a woman arguing with the manager that she didn’t feel that she should pay the 10% as she did not get any service. We felt exactly the same – and the joke is is that it was the manager serving us. It’s pretty safe to say that after visiting Hong Kong Diner for the last 4 years and shrugging off the fact that the waiters aren’t necessarily the most pleasant and welcoming, last night was the final straw. The manager should understand that if they want to charge for service, then it actually had to exist in the first place! HK Diner has now lost it’s regular customers…..but do I think they care? Probably not.

Surprisingly good, with excellent cuts of meat. Portions were generous. Boba was a bit lackluster, but it’s almost impossible to find in London, anyway. Definitely a good choice, if you’re in Chinatown.
