Very happy about the standard of food here along with the reasonable prices! The salmon sashimi salad was fresh and the dressing was delicious- I would definitely recommend this.
Despite the slightly shabby exterior in a neighbourhood of pristine restaurants, Kyoto more than lived up to the reviews. The Sashimi Bento box (16.50) was superb with a good array of Sushi, Sashimi, gyoza and rice. We took a chance on a bottle of Sake, and having no experience in this field ordered a bottle on the cheaper end of the scale (13.50). It was absolutely delicious and a perfect accompaniment to the food. At about 25/head per person it was no more expensive than other high street sushi restaurants but the food was in another class. A host of native diners reassured us that this was authentic Sushi that has not been tempted to charge more because of it. Wouldn’t recommend for a smart evening out, but absolutely worth a visit.
