This is cute little restaurant that seats 12 people total. It has an intimate but well lit and tastefully decorated interior. I have only ever had the beef Teriyaki which is just delicious. I come back at least once every time I am in London.Update: there is a downstairs section that seats quite a few more people. Also -the name changed from Lingo to Nala. The menu has not changed, and the food is still great.

This is a traditional Japanese restaurant that perfects in traditional japanese food. Very friendly atmosphere, and a very good location. Enjoyed the experience of having a friday dinner at this amazing restaurant. Keep up the great service!

This is a very small restaurant with a very intimate setting and a real taste of Japan. Perfect place for a date after which you can wonder around streets in Soho. Ice cream for dessert is a must.

Saturday was spent in the office. I know- thrilling! By late afternoon, we were done- bleary eyed and fast approaching levels of Hanger since no one had eaten since breakfast. So at 4pm, we headed into Soho intending to reward ourselves with sushi at Kulu Kuluonly to get there and discover they didnt open until 5pm. Luckily, around the corner Lingo was open and so we ducked through the door, past the dodgy faux Japanese lanterns, and plonked ourselves downstairs. Because it was an awkward service time, we had the place to ourselves- a nice quiet place, where they gave us food? Score! We ordered a medley of things to share between us- seaweed salad (the dressing was delicious!), soft shell crab handrolls, spicy tuna rolls, seafood pancake and a Korean noodle dish called Chap Chae, which were thick glass noodles stir fried with beef and vegetables. The soft shell handrolls were lovely, as were the spicy tuna rolls. The seafood pancake could have been crispier and at 7, could have been filled with a little more seafood. The Chap Chae we ordered was okay- I was expecting the noodles to be the really thin glass noodles so it was nice to try something different. The waitresses were friendly and my hungry belly was thankful for the complimentary salad before our food came. Im pleased with this new little Soho find! Lingo is on Lower John Street, and they do takeaway lunches- seriously, I dont think theres anywhere else in London like Soho with so many amazing places to get lunch. theawkwardblog.com

Ordered a Seafood Ramen:1) Seafood is basically Tesco Frozen Seafood bag: completely overcooked little shrimps and other little bits2) Bamboo Shoots: taste like the Bambook Shoots you can buy from China Town supermarket, those spicy ones in big jugs. 3) The half eggs is cold and massively over cooked4) Noodles: not expecting to be home made, but also not expecting to be those packed pot noodle you can buy from Japanese supermarket either!worst Japanese food I have ever had. if you don’t know how to cook it, then please don’t put them on your menu.
