The pastries are good. Although didn’t see any prices advertised, maybe they were facing the outer side of the window but there was people sitting there so couldn’t see. The range of cakes is impressive, cream and fruit everywhere. The portions are also large and I didn’t really need two, the Mille Feuille crumbled everywhere as it should and the creme patisserie in the tart was silky smooth.

I went to this bakery as part of my cake crawl and fell in love with it. Upon entering we were greeted by the sweetest woman, who is the owner of Maison Bertaux. She introduced the pastries and their prices to us and we were immediately seated upstairs. The display at Maison Bertaux is so inviting. It’s filled with fresh cream cakes, tarts and croissants. We went with this traditional French cream cake with a choux pastry base, chocolate and vanilla cream and a profiterole to top. Along with that we ordered a peach and pear tart, a vanilla cream and strawberry cake and a mixed berries cheesecake. I loved it all. It reminded me of my childhood where we would get cream cakes for everyone’s birthdays and every other occasion. You could taste the freshness of the cakes and how good quality ingredients were used. The atmosphere also added to the experience. It was the sort of place where you just order a slice of cake and a pot of tea with a few friends and sit there chatting for hours on end. Everything about the patisserie just made me love it. If I was to recommend a cake, I’d say the cheesecake. It wasn’t a baked cheesecake, it was the non-bake gelatin one. It was very light and is a must try.Overall, I’d say everyone whose in London should visit atleast once. It’s a lovely experience and not too pricey either.Edit: I went to this patisserie again the other day and I’d like to add that the scones are a must try too. They were massive and tasted delicious both on their own and paired with clotted cream and jam. I love the almost home like atmosphere this place creates.

This bakery is right next door to the soho secret tea house. The place was alright and I like the pastry but I was not happy, I had to go around to the cash point to withdraw money and they don’t give out receipts :/ as a child lots of people try to rob me of my money because they think I don’t check and maths is one of my weakness but I turn into a maths genius when I KNOW I should not be paying a certain amount XD tables had a lot of cup marks they need to start using coaster here.

I stopped here for lunch and was completely blown away by the quality of the cafe. There were beautiful cakes everywhere and the owner was really friendly. I was recommended to try the croissants as they were famous. I had a ham and cheese croissant and it was delicious. I’m looking forward to stopping here again next week!
