Three booked for dinner, had an idea it would be good. Not only was it good but it was all I had expected and more. Pre-dinner drinks and menu browsing all very relaxed. No rushing. Two had starters, I looked on in envy; mains arrived and not a word said – sign of a great meal – no talking – except for how is yours? Fab ! Monica came out to say hello to her patrons. What a woman, Chef behind doors and delightful person front of house. Dessert just for me arrived (that’s why no starter) Delightful, exactly what I needed to finish. I would most definitely return (bring the Fathers credit card). Go there, see and taste how wonderful food is when prepared and presented with such love.
A trendy Italian restaurant with innovative starters and traditional main. The food was delicious, the vibe in the restaurant was great. Definitely recommended for dinner with friends.
I didn’t see myself rating a popular and small Italian menu as disappointing. Here I am doing just that ! Don’t tell me that it was an off day in the kitchen !If you choose to do a short and regional menu, it shouldn’t be good but ought to be excellent. Didn’t notice that ‘wow’ on anybody the diners faces. Haven’t you ?
nice restaurant in the heart of soho! truthfully Italian taste and service. perfect location for a night out and if you want to be treated and if you don’t mind spend few more quids than a usual dinner. I have shared a t bone fiorentina (30 per person) and few starters such as polenta with lamb (tasted amazing). I would definitely recommend even the price is it a bit too over the real value.
Very good food!! We had a selection of starters and one main each, here the tagliarini with black truffle. Really nice place, cozy and warm. Great location as well. The only con is the price, too expensive: 60 each
Good food and location. The room downstairs was quirky and modern and the staff really friendly. The menu was encouraging and the food was good but nothing outstanding. Often have a 3 course and glass of bubbles offer for 20 in which case you can’t go wrong. Good place for after work dinner but don’t go out of your way to get there.
My Italian friends really rate Mele e Pere for a taste of home. Having tried their polenta and slow cooked beef, if this is true Italian cooking than sign me up. The polenta was creamy, the beef ridiculously tender- it fell apart with a brush of my fork- and the flavour was just deep, meaty and real comfort food. The ground floor is great to grab a bite to eat over lunch from one of the window facing seats or head downstairs for a more leisurely meal with friends. theawkwardblog.com
