The dishes that are served looks more tapas to me – because they are small on plate – but nicely presented. I ordered a margarita pizza there and it’s so good i would ordered again, and again. It’s good base that makes me to. And the not so aggressive topping allowed me to enjoy the base as much as the nice combination of tomato, mozzarella and basil. I dropped myself a bit of olive oil on it just to my own interest. It was great. It might be expensive to order the focaccia with rosemary on its own but the focaccia is also good. I also order chicken croquettele(?) thing with aioli sauce, so good. The missing 0.5 would be the service. I would expect the service staff to walk (RUN is what i really mean) faster and be more attentive. Our second glass of wine didn’t come fast enough unfortunately. And yes i would go there again and try other food. They were all good.
I haven’t been back since Florence Knight left a couple of months ago, so my rating will probably change the next time I visit, but when she was the head chef this was my favourite restaurant in Soho (and probably in London) together with Bocca Di Lupo. I am sure it will still be good as everything Russell Normal puts his name on (Polpo, Spuntino, Mishkin’s…) is great, but Polpetto was simply on another level. I was a regular and had some of the best dishes ever. Their Beetroot with goat’s curd, the incredibly elaborate Westcombe ricotta and egg yolk raviolo, their incomparable wet polenta… just to name a few. London really needs Florence Knight to open another restaurant.
Worth the wait. Everything we tried _ and we kept ordering more _ was delicious. We lucked out and scored a table right away, but definitely worth waiting for one if its crowded. Very cozy, cute, and great food.
Nice place and what you get is delicious. But you get it in VERY small portions.
We loved it, has that secret London feel of not being all front of house show. Staff were friendly, fun and efficient, good interesting food, all in all a great final stop on a great Saturday out in town.
Love Polpettos!Really can’t fault the place – good food, good wine and lovely staff!
