Nice pub in the center of Soho district, between Oxford Street and Carnaby street. We arrived there to have a short break during our shopping session. We drank two typical English beers and saw the football match Tottenham vs Everton. The pub has a distinctive English style, where everything is made in wood and no service at table. If you want to eat something you can go upstairs. iviaggidismarz.com

Good pub for drinks when touring around the soho area! I love the atmosphere around it so it’s awesome for the bing a bear and standing outside and enjoying the vibe and the lack of cars. However, not the best place to get food. It was mediocre and not satisfying enough that I would recommend to dine there.

Not going to lie: I decided to give the Shakespeare’s Head a go purely because I am a literary fanatic with a bit of an obsession with everything Shakespeare! With a bust of Shakespeare’s head poking out from the upper window like a wooed Juliet herself, you find yourself pulled in by the magic and wonder of the history and the literature itself (well, I was anyway!) Large red canopies cover the teaming outdoor crowd and the beautiful brick exterior and thatched windows truly transport you back in time. You can just imagine wondering your way in for a drunken sit down and chat back in the mid 1700s!I only opted for a cider after a late Saturday stroll around Carnaby street, which hit the spot. That being said, the food being served around us certainly smelled good, like good old fashioned, greasy pub food. May have to come back for some Fish and chips (I’m sure the next time I have any literary visitors, I will get the chance!)

The name itself captures attention and lures one inside. In the heart of Carnaby street, the place was packed downstairs – as it should be for a Thursday evening. They have seating upstairs – quiet and infused with old world English charm. One of the pubs I would keep in mind for quality sit down time with the perks of pubbing. Staff, for some reason, does not smile. But otherwise, this is a great place to go to. currycular.wordpress.com

I havent really had the food here – so perhaps its not fair to judge the place based purely on the ambience & the crowd. It is located in a fairly busy part of town, right beside the high street so tends to have plenty of people inside at any time. The one thing that doesnt feel great though is how these days it has become standard to pay 5 for a pint of lager and this is one of those places where you have to fork that amount out. The inside of the pub does feel surprisingly & it doesnt have any loud music playing (not on weekdays anyway) so it is a decent place for a meet up with someone where you can talk without having to shout.
