Well , someone recommended to visit this Asian place. They start with complimentary lotus stem poppadums with red chili sauce ( awesome). After having that our expectations became more high. We ordered chilly and lime baby potatoes , veg pad Thai , mango and avocado sushi , green curry with jasmine rice. The pad Thai was good , but rest of the dishes were average. Service was good. Over all would rate it at 3.5.
Really great restaurant. They seat you first at the bar for drinks and some free popcorn 😀 and then set your table up where you can bring over the drinks you have started at the bar already and then continue them with great food! I love the decor inside. This is a perfect fine dinning place that really hits the spot if you are looking for Japanese/ asian fusion type foodDon’t forget their desert after
Great cocktails – food not so good. The perfect cocktails and a wonderful respite from tourist-ville. However, the nibbles were not good – especially the mushroom spring rolls and burger.
Don’t bother. Overpriced. Poor service. Terrible coffee.. Made the mistake most probably make when staying at the W hotel- went and had breakfast here. Ridiculously overpriced for what it is. Stay away. You have been warned.
Disappointing/Not to be Repeated. There is an expectation when you are visiting an Asian Fusion restaurant in a fine Luxury Hotel, where there is a major restaurant chef involved in the project, that you are going to get that mixture of Glamour, Style, and innovative cooking. Unfortunately Spice Market falls short in all 3 departments, and tries too hard to carry the alternative Asian Theme (south east meets Subcontinent). On our visit the service was not great, the timing of dish arrivals inconsistent, the presentation avg and not inspiring. The cooking was a mixture of food that was overcooked (particularly the fish), bland, particularly the Lobster main course & rolls, or overpowering on the palate. This is always the challenge with this jurisdiction which is why Zuma, and Nobu don’t go there, and Hakkasan is very careful. The atmosphere also lacked the buzz and energy of the others above, and thus I couldn’t really point at anything that would make a revisit and another try to see if they can do better, worth considering.
