Enough said.Sun Luen isn’t much to behold, but the Hong Kong baked goods sold from inside this little snack bar are among the best I’ve ever had!With two varieties of coconut buns on offer, the woman behind the counter told us which ones were the tastiest. Of course, we took her advice and opted for the long, glistening, sesame seed-bedecked bun. The pastry itself was soft and fluffy with a hint of sweetness. The filling is superb. The texture and flavour immediately reminded me of shortbread cookie dough, light, sweet, salty and pasty yet crumbly. The coconut flavour really hits you when you swallow the first bite.We were surprised at how cheap the delicious buns were: 1.80 for two!The owner laughed and said everyone’s always telling her her baked goods are too pricey! I’d gladly pay double what we paid for one bun!Happy to have found my new go-to Hong Kong bakery in London!
