I really liked the ambience of this cafe at the top floors of Foyles. Everyone was either reading or chatting without disturbing each other. I was here after browsing some books below and was reading for about an hour since the lighting were pretty convenient for reading.During my time here, I got to try their coffee and cake. The coffee was good, it didn’t upset my stomach, really. Sad interpretation from a coffee amateur, I know. The cakes selection were interesting enough. I chose on with lemon and coconut, which turned out to be delicious. Overall, really like the place and definitely will repeat my visits in the future.
Got a lovely break from browsing books at the cafe, enjoying my time with tea and cake, and I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how quite everyone was allowing all to read and relax easily. The only unpleasant part were a good amount of flies lingering on the food on display and traveling to the nearby tables, thing that made me revalued the possibility of going back there. Will check next time I’m around to see if they solved the issue.
The new Foyles Bookshop Cafe is a more than welcome stop on my wander round London today… A great sandwich, friendly faces, actively communal tables (book people are friendly, but not chatty – more a knowing smile between kindred souls), smooth coffee and free wifi! Now I’m off to spend way too much time, and maybe money, downstairs in the Food and Drink department… I may be sometime… keepcalmandfannyon.blogspot.com
What a pleasure to have a break between two books! This is what Foyles is about: one of the largest bookstores in London. On the first floor, a cafe offers a selection of pastries, teas and sandwiches in a friendly space: tables and wooden benches to share, jazzy music, free wifi, micro stage for sessions on some nights. A great place to escape from the bustle of Leicester Square!
